How the game unfolded

Oberena (W) took the lead after a bright start, capitalising on a set-piece opportunity and converting from close range. The home side used that goal as a platform to press higher, but Berriozar responded calmly. The visitors began to find space in midfield and equalised before the interval with a well-placed finish after a patient attacking move.

The second half was tightly contested, with both teams aware of how much the next goal would matter. Berriozar CF Women found it around the closing stages, breaking through Oberena’s defence with a quick combination and finishing confidently. Oberena pushed for a response, but the visitors defended their box well and saw out the win.

Tactical story

Berriozar’s ability to adapt after conceding was the standout feature of the match. Rather than panicking, they tightened their midfield shape and forced Oberena to play around them rather than through them. Their equaliser came from controlling possession, and the winner arrived from a moment of quick, direct play.

Oberena (W) had their chances, particularly from wide areas and set pieces, but they struggled to create clear openings after the break. Berriozar’s back line stepped up at important moments and limited the home side’s space in the final third. In a league where away wins can shape the table, this was a mature performance from the visitors.

Standout performers

Berriozar CF Women’s midfield worked tirelessly, winning second balls and linking play. Their goalkeeper also made key interventions when Oberena threatened an equaliser. For Oberena (W), the opening goal was a reward for their early intensity, but the team will be disappointed not to have taken at least a point from a game they started strongly.

What the result means

The win gives Berriozar CF Women valuable momentum in Spanish Ladies Premier League C and reinforces their ability to compete away from home. Oberena (W) remain with lessons to take from the match, especially in game management after taking the lead. The result adds another layer of intrigue to the league standings and sets up an important next round for both clubs.
