Atletico Saguntino 0-4 CD Artistico Navalcarnero: Navalcarnero Run Riot in Copa Federación

CD Artistico Navalcarnero produced a statement away performance in the Copa Federación, defeating Atletico Saguntino 4-0 with a ruthless display of finishing and control. The visitors scored twice in each half, never allowing Saguntino to settle, and secured their place in the next round with plenty to spare.

Match Overview

Atletico Saguntino hoped home advantage would give them a platform, but Navalcarnero imposed themselves from the first whistle. The Madrid side pressed aggressively, won second balls in midfield, and moved the ball quickly into the final third. Saguntino struggled to keep possession for long spells and were repeatedly exposed by Navalcarnero’s runners.

By the time the second half began, the game was already slipping away from the hosts. Navalcarnero managed the occasion maturely, adding further goals without taking unnecessary risks. The final scoreline reflected their superiority in both penalty areas: clinical in attack and organized in defence.

Key Moments

• 9' – 0-1: Rubén Sánchez gave Navalcarnero an early lead with a first-time strike from the edge of the box after a short corner routine.
• 33' – 0-2: Mario García doubled the advantage, heading in a deep cross that Saguntino’s defenders failed to clear.
• 61' – 0-3: Adrián de la Fuente finished a sweeping move, converting a low cross at the near post.
• 85' – 0-4: Carlos Jiménez completed the rout with a calm finish after intercepting a loose pass in the home half.

Tactical Story

Navalcarnero set up in a compact 4-2-3-1, with the two holding midfielders shielding the defence and allowing the full-backs to push high. Their pressing traps worked perfectly: Saguntino’s midfielders were forced into sideways passes, and Navalcarnero repeatedly won the ball in dangerous areas. The early goal settled any nerves and forced Saguntino to open up, which only made the visitors more dangerous.

Saguntino tried to change shape after half-time, switching to a back three in an attempt to gain a foothold, but Navalcarnero’s front four rotated constantly and dragged defenders out of position. The fourth goal was a fitting summary of the night: high pressure, quick decision-making, and a composed finish.

Standout Players

Rubén Sánchez was influential throughout, not only for his goal but for his link-up play between midfield and attack. Mario García’s aerial presence caused problems all evening, while Adrián de la Fuente’s direct running and Carlos Jiménez’s intelligent movement off the bench kept Saguntino under pressure until the final whistle.

What It Means

Navalcarnero move forward in the Copa Federación with confidence and a hugely impressive away result. A four-goal margin on the road is a warning to future opponents. For Atletico Saguntino, the defeat is a painful one, but cup football often demands quick recovery, and their focus must now shift to restoring defensive solidity in league play.
