SD Videm claimed a convincing 2-0 away win over NK Podvinci on Saturday night, delivering a disciplined, well-organised performance that silenced the home crowd and underlined their credentials in the Slovenia 3.Liga.

Videm were the sharper side throughout. They defended with discipline, broke with purpose, and scored at two crucial moments — one before the break and one after — to keep control of a match that Podvinci never truly managed to wrestle back.

Match Overview

The first half was competitive without being open. NK Podvinci tried to establish themselves through possession in midfield, but Videm's compact defensive block made progress difficult. Every time the hosts looked to play through the middle, they found a wall of blue shirts.

The visitors' opening goal changed the complexion of the game entirely. From that point on, Videm were content to defend their lead and pick their moments to attack, a strategy they executed with maturity.

Key Moments

• First-half breakthrough: SD Videm opened the scoring with a sharp counter-attack, finished calmly after a driving run from midfield.
• Podvinci response: The hosts pushed forward after the restart and forced two saves from Videm's goalkeeper inside the first ten minutes of the second half.
• Second goal: Videm doubled their advantage midway through the second half, converting from a wide delivery that was not properly cleared.
• Game management: The closing stages were controlled, with Videm slowing the tempo and limiting Podvinci to speculative efforts.

Tactical Story

SD Videm's game plan was textbook away-day football. They conceded possession without conceding space, kept their lines close together, and attacked exclusively through quick, vertical transitions. Both goals came from situations where Podvinci had committed too many bodies forward.

NK Podvinci's problems were structural. With the ball they were patient but slow, allowing Videm time to reorganise. Without it, their midfield left gaps in front of the back four that were repeatedly exploited. A two-goal deficit at home is difficult to overturn when the opponent defends as well as Videm did.

Standout Performers

The Videm goalkeeper was central to the clean sheet, producing two important stops at 1-0 when the match was still in the balance. The midfield engine who drove forward for the opening goal combined defensive diligence with genuine attacking thrust.

For NK Podvinci, the wide players showed flashes of quality and delivered several dangerous crosses, but the service into the box lacked a finishing touch. Their captain's leadership in midfield never wavered, even as the game slipped away.

What It Means for the Table

Three points on the road are always valuable, and this result strengthens SD Videm's standing in the Slovenia 3.Liga table while handing NK Podvinci a second consecutive home disappointment to reflect on.

For Podvinci, the priority is clear: turn possession into penetration and stop conceding on the transition. For Videm, the challenge is to reproduce this level of organisation against the division's stronger sides. On this evidence, they look well equipped to compete comfortably in the upper half of the standings.

Final score: NK Podvinci 0-2 SD Videm.
