In a remarkable Slovenia 3.Liga fixture played on 3 October 2026, NK Ormoz edged out Dobrovce 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller that kept the home crowd on the edge of their seats from start to finish. The match, which kicked off at 21:30 local time, delivered everything a neutral fan could hope for: attacking intent, defensive lapses, a dramatic comeback, and a late winner that sent the home supporters into raptures.

Match Overview

NK Ormoz started the brighter of the two sides, pressing high and forcing Dobrovce into early mistakes. The home team's aggressive 4-3-3 shape caused problems down the flanks, and it took just 12 minutes for the deadlock to be broken. A clever through ball from captain Luka Kovačič found striker Matej Rojko, who slotted calmly past the advancing goalkeeper to make it 1-0.

The lead was doubled midway through the first half when Nejc Zver curled a free kick into the top corner from 20 yards, leaving the Dobrovce keeper rooted to the spot. At 2-0, the game looked comfortable for the hosts, but Dobrovce had other ideas. A swift counter-attack in the 38th minute saw Marko Horvat pull one back with a low drive, and just before the break, Žiga Potočnik equalised from a corner, heading in at the near post.

• 12' – Matej Rojko opens the scoring for NK Ormoz after a slick team move.

Tactical Story

Both managers opted for attacking line-ups, and the midfield battle was often bypassed in favour of direct, vertical football. NK Ormoz's full-backs pushed high, creating overloads, but that left them vulnerable to Dobrovce's rapid transitions. The visitors, lining up in a 4-2-3-1, looked dangerous every time they won the ball in central areas, with Horvat and Potočnik linking well. However, Ormoz's superior fitness and willingness to keep pushing forward ultimately paid off, as they found a late goal through Hercog just when the game seemed destined for a draw.

Standout Players

Matej Rojko was the hero for NK Ormoz, scoring twice and leading the line with relentless energy. His movement off the ball constantly unsettled the Dobrovce defence. Captain Luka Kovačič controlled the tempo from midfield, while Nejc Zver provided the moment of the match with his free-kick. For Dobrovce, Marko Horvat was a constant threat, and Alen Krajnc showed composure from the spot, but their defensive frailties cost them dearly.

Table Impact

The three points lift NK Ormoz into a more comfortable position in the Slovenia 3.Liga standings, keeping them in touch with the promotion-chasing pack. Dobrovce, meanwhile, remain in the lower half of the table and will be concerned about their defensive record after conceding four goals in a single match. The result highlights the competitive nature of the third tier, where any team can score goals and no lead is safe.

Next up, NK Ormoz will look to build on this momentum, while Dobrovce must regroup quickly if they are to climb away from danger. If this seven-goal spectacle is anything to go by, both sides will continue to provide entertainment throughout the 2026-27 campaign.
