Tactical Story

Dren Vrhnika lined up in a 4-4-2, looking to use their physicality from set pieces. Primorje played a more fluid 4-3-3, relying on quick passing and movement. The game was decided in midfield, where Dren's central pairing won the second balls and launched counter-attacks. Primorje's full-backs pushed high, leaving space behind, which Dren exploited for the winning goal. Both managers made attacking substitutions, but it was Dren's bench that made the difference.

Standout Players

Dren's centre-back was a rock at the back, winning headers and making a goal-line clearance. The substitute striker changed the game with his energy and finishing. For Primorje, their playmaker was inventive, but he was often isolated. Their goalkeeper made two excellent saves to keep the score down.

Table Impact and What's Next

The win lifts NK Dren Vrhnika into a more comfortable mid-table position, while ND Primorje remain just above the relegation zone. The result extends Dren's unbeaten home run to four matches. Next weekend, Dren travel to face a top-six side, while Primorje host a direct rival in a crucial six-pointer. The head-to-head record is now finely balanced, with Dren winning two of the last five meetings.
