NK Brezice 1919 2-1 Krsko Posavlje — NK Brezice 1919 claimed a hard-fought 2-1 win over Krsko Posavlje in Slovenia’s 2. Liga on 18 October 2026, using a strong second-half spell to secure all three points at Stadion Brezice. The match was competitive throughout, but the hosts’ greater cutting edge in the final third proved decisive.

Match overview

Brezice started positively, pressing Krsko Posavlje in their own half and looking to create chances through quick combinations on the wings. The visitors defended with discipline and tried to hit back on the counter, making the first half a tight and tactical affair. Brezice eventually broke the deadlock before the interval, rewarding their greater share of possession.

The second half brought more urgency. Brezice doubled their lead after a well-worked attacking move, but Krsko Posavlje responded with a goal of their own and pushed for an equaliser. The closing minutes were tense, with the visitors sending more players forward, but Brezice held firm to protect a valuable home victory.

Key moments

• 38th minute: NK Brezice 1919 took the lead with a composed finish after sustained pressure.
• 58th minute: The hosts doubled their advantage following a quick move down the right flank.
• 71st minute: Krsko Posavlje pulled one back with a determined run and a low finish.
• 84th minute: Brezice’s goalkeeper made an important save to preserve the lead.
• 90+3: A late Krsko corner caused panic in the box, but the home defence cleared the danger.

Tactical story

Brezice’s game plan centred on control and patience. They circulated the ball well, drew Krsko out of position and attacked the spaces left behind. Their midfield worked hard to win second balls, and their wide players provided consistent width. The decision to push full-backs forward in the second half helped create the overlap that led to the second goal.

Krsko Posavlje were compact for long spells and looked dangerous on the break, especially after pulling a goal back. However, they struggled to create clear chances against a Brezice defence that became more resolute as the match wore on. The visitors’ late pressure was admirable, but they lacked the final quality needed to find an equaliser.

Standout performers

Brezice’s attacking players deserved credit for their movement and link-up play, while the midfield’s energy ensured the hosts maintained control during key phases. Krsko’s scorer was their most dangerous outlet, and their goalkeeper kept the scoreline respectable with several important stops.

What it means

The win gives NK Brezice 1919 an important three points in the Slovenia 2. Liga and strengthens their position in a competitive promotion race. For Krsko Posavlje, the narrow defeat is a frustrating one, but their second-half response showed enough to suggest they can remain competitive. Brezice will take confidence from the result as they prepare for their next fixture.
