Krsko Posavlje 0-2 Triglav Gorenjska: Clinical Visitors Take All Three Points

Triglav Gorenjska secured a solid 2-0 victory over Krsko Posavlje in the Slovenia 2.Liga on Sunday evening, thanks to goals in each half from Luka Zajc and Marko Kovačič. The win moves Triglav up the table and extends their unbeaten run, while Krsko Posavlje are left to rue a lack of cutting edge in front of goal.

Despite enjoying plenty of possession, the hosts were unable to break down a well-organised Triglav defence. The visitors were clinical when their chances arrived, and they managed the game expertly in the closing stages to secure a valuable away win.

Match Overview

Krsko Posavlje began the game brightly, moving the ball quickly and looking to create openings through the middle. However, they came up against a disciplined Triglav backline that was happy to absorb pressure and hit on the counter-attack. The deadlock was broken in the 19th minute when Luka Zajc found space on the edge of the box and curled a fine effort into the corner.

The second half saw Krsko push more players forward in search of an equaliser, but they left gaps at the back. Triglav exploited one of those gaps in the 74th minute, with Marko Kovačič finishing off a swift counter-attack to seal the victory.

Key Moments

• 19' – Luka Zajc opens the scoring: A well-placed shot from just outside the box gave the Triglav forward his goal.
• 38' – Krsko's best chance: A header from a corner was cleared off the line by a Triglav defender.
• 57' – Krsko hit the post: A low drive from distance beat the goalkeeper but struck the upright.
• 74' – Marko Kovačič doubles the lead: A lightning counter-attack ended with a composed finish.
• 88' – Late Krsko pressure: The hosts threw bodies forward, but Triglav's defence held firm.

Tactical Story

Triglav Gorenjska set up in a compact 4-4-2 formation, prioritising defensive solidity and quick transitions. Their midfield worked hard to close down space, and their two forwards were always ready to break at pace. Both goals came from exactly that kind of direct play, with the second being a textbook counter-attack.

Krsko Posavlje dominated possession but struggled to find a way through. Their build-up play was patient, but they lacked penetration in the final third, often resorting to crosses that were comfortably dealt with. The hosts will be frustrated that their territorial advantage did not translate into goals.

Standout Players

Luka Zajc was the standout performer for Triglav, scoring the opening goal and leading the line with intelligence. Marko Kovačič added the crucial second and was a constant threat on the break. Goalkeeper Matija Zupan kept a clean sheet and made a couple of important saves.

For Krsko Posavlje, midfielder Nejc Oblak was their most creative player, while defender Rok Hribar made several important challenges. However, the team as a whole lacked a clinical finisher on the night.

Season Impact

This victory strengthens Triglav Gorenjska's position in the Slovenia 2.Liga standings and gives them momentum heading into their next fixtures. Their defensive record is becoming a real asset, and if they can continue to score goals on the counter, they will be a tough team to beat.

Krsko Posavlje remain in search of consistency. They have shown they can dominate possession, but turning that into points is the challenge. The head-to-head record between these two sides now favours Triglav, and Krsko will need to find a solution to their goalscoring woes quickly if they are to climb the table.
