NK Fuzinar produced a dominant cup performance to defeat Carda Martjanci 5-1 in the Slovenia Cup on 24 October 2026, securing their place in the next round with a confident and clinical attacking display. Fuzinar controlled the tie from early on, scored regularly and never allowed their lower-ranked opponents to build sustained momentum.

Match overview

The home side started with purpose, moving the ball quickly and stretching Carda Martjanci across the pitch. The opening goal settled any early nerves, and Fuzinar’s superiority in possession soon became clear. Carda Martjanci defended in numbers and tried to threaten on the break, but they struggled to keep the ball long enough to relieve pressure.

By the time the second half began, Fuzinar had already established a commanding lead. They added further goals after the break, combining patient build-up with direct runs into the box. Carda Martjanci did manage a consolation goal, which was a moment of reward for their persistence, but Fuzinar restored their authority and finished the tie comfortably.

Key moments

• Early breakthrough: Fuzinar opened the scoring after a flowing move, setting the tone for a one-sided cup tie.
• Growing lead: The hosts added more goals before half-time, capitalising on gaps in the Carda Martjanci defence.
• Consolation for Carda: The visitors pulled one back in the second half, briefly interrupting Fuzinar’s rhythm.
• Strong finish: Fuzinar responded with further goals to complete a convincing 5-1 victory.

Tactical story

Fuzinar’s win was built on quick ball movement and intelligent positioning between the lines. Their midfielders constantly found pockets of space, while the wide players stretched the defence and created room for crosses and cut-backs. Carda Martjanci tried to defend deep and counter, but the gap in quality showed whenever Fuzinar accelerated the tempo. The hosts also pressed well after losing possession, preventing their opponents from settling on the ball.

Standout performers

Fuzinar’s attacking players were the difference, combining sharply and showing composure in front of goal. The midfield controlled the rhythm of the match, and the defence dealt comfortably with most of Carda Martjanci’s counter-attacks. For the visitors, the goalkeeper was busy throughout and made several saves, while their consolation goal came from a rare spell of pressure and a well-taken finish.

What the result means

The victory sends NK Fuzinar into the next round of the Slovenia Cup and underlines their ambition in knockout football. A 5-1 win also builds momentum and gives the squad confidence ahead of their next league fixture. For Carda Martjanci, the cup run ends, but the experience of facing stronger opposition provides a useful benchmark as they return to their domestic campaign.
