Diamond Stars 0-0 Star Sport Academy — Diamond Stars and Star Sport Academy shared the spoils in a hard-fought 0-0 draw in the Sierra Leone Premier League on October 12, 2026, with both defences coming out on top in a match of few clear chances.

Match Overview

Diamond Stars started with intent, pressing high and forcing Star Sport Academy into a series of early clearances. The hosts won a couple of corners inside the first ten minutes, but the final delivery lacked the quality needed to trouble the goalkeeper. Star Sport Academy gradually settled, using their midfield to slow the tempo and keep possession.

As the game wore on, it became a tactical battle. Diamond Stars looked to attack down the flanks, while Star Sport Academy favoured central combinations and long shots. Neither side could find a breakthrough, and the goalkeepers were protected well by their defensive lines throughout.

Key Moments

• 9th minute: Diamond Stars' first corner was headed wide at the near post.
• 24th minute: Star Sport Academy's best chance of the half, a curling effort from outside the box that clipped the top of the crossbar.
• 41st minute: A quick Diamond Stars counter ended with a shot deflected behind for a corner.
• 63rd minute: Star Sport Academy's goalkeeper made a smart low save after a powerful drive from the edge of the area.
• 85th minute: Diamond Stars pushed numbers forward, but a last-ditch tackle denied them a late winner.

Tactical Story

Diamond Stars set up in a 4-3-3 and tried to use width to stretch Star Sport Academy's back four. The visitors responded by narrowing their midfield and forcing play into wide areas, where they doubled up on the wingers. That made it difficult for Diamond Stars to create clean crossing opportunities.

Star Sport Academy were happy to concede possession in the middle third but remained dangerous on the break. Their number nine worked tirelessly, holding the ball up and bringing others into play. However, both teams lacked the final pass in the attacking third, and the defensive units deserved credit for the clean sheets.

Standout Players

Diamond Stars' goalkeeper Sahr Musa was reliable when called upon, particularly in the second half, while centre-back Abdul Rahman Jalloh won several important aerial duels. For Star Sport Academy, the midfield captain dictated the tempo and protected the back four, and their left-back was excellent in one-on-one defending.

What It Means

The draw leaves both clubs still searching for consistency in the Sierra Leone Premier League standings. Diamond Stars will feel they had enough territory to win, but they must convert pressure into shots on target. Star Sport Academy will take confidence from a solid away performance and a clean sheet, which could prove valuable in the race for a top-half finish.
