Taishan Team moved through the gears in the Shandong Qilu Football Super League on October 3, 2026, recording a convincing 3-0 victory over Yantai Team. A controlled, professional performance at home delivered three points, a clean sheet, and a clear message that Taishan Team intend to be a serious force in the competition this season.

Match Overview

The 19:30 kick-off began with Yantai Team looking to frustrate their hosts through a compact defensive shape. Taishan Team, however, were patient in possession and gradually pulled the visitors apart. Once the first goal arrived, the match tilted decisively in the home side’s favour, and they never looked like surrendering control.

First Half: Taishan Break the Resistance

Taishan Team dominated the early exchanges, moving the ball quickly through midfield and stretching Yantai with wide runs. The breakthrough came in the 22nd minute when Wang Lei received the ball on the edge of the box, shifted it onto his stronger foot, and fired a precise strike into the bottom corner. The goal settled any nerves and forced Yantai to come out of their defensive shell.

Yantai managed a few counter-attacks but struggled to create clear chances. Taishan’s back line stayed disciplined, winning the ball back quickly and launching fresh attacks. The home side went into half-time with a deserved 1-0 lead and a firm grip on the game.

Second Half: Ruthless Finishing

Taishan doubled their advantage in the 55th minute with a move that summed up their evening. A quick turnover in midfield led to a flowing passing sequence, and Li Hao applied the finish from close range after a low cross from the right. Yantai’s defence appealed for offside, but the goal stood, and the home crowd sensed the match was safe.

The third goal arrived in the 78th minute. Zhang Wei, who had been a constant threat with his late runs into the box, was brought down just inside the area and calmly converted the resulting penalty. It was a fitting reward for Taishan’s dominance and left Yantai with no route back into the contest.

Key Moments

• 22nd minute: Wang Lei opens the scoring with a well-placed strike from the edge of the box.
• 55th minute: Li Hao finishes a sweeping team move to make it 2-0.
• 78th minute: Zhang Wei converts a penalty to seal the 3-0 win.
• Full-time: Taishan Team keep a clean sheet and take all three points.

Tactical Story

Taishan Team set up in a 4-3-3 that allowed their full-backs to push high and create overloads in wide areas. Yantai Team responded with a 5-4-1 defensive block, hoping to absorb pressure and hit on the break. For the first 20 minutes, that plan worked reasonably well, but once Taishan scored, the spaces opened up.

The key difference was Taishan’s pressing structure. They won the ball back in advanced positions and repeatedly turned defence into attack within seconds. Yantai’s midfield dropped too deep, leaving their lone striker isolated and making it difficult to relieve pressure.

Standout Players

Wang Lei was influential throughout, scoring the opening goal and linking play between midfield and attack. Li Hao’s movement in the box was rewarded with a goal, while Zhang Wei showed composure from the penalty spot. In defence, Taishan’s goalkeeper Liu Peng was alert when called upon, preserving the clean sheet with a couple of smart saves.

Season Impact

The 3-0 result strengthens Taishan Team’s position in the Shandong Qilu Football Super League and adds valuable goal difference to their tally. For Yantai Team, it is a difficult evening but one that offers clear areas for improvement. Taishan will take confidence from the manner of the victory as they look ahead to their next fixtures.
