Partizan Belgrade U19 produced a strong attacking response to early adversity on Saturday evening, beating FK Usce Novi Beograd U19 4-2 in the Serbian U19 League after falling behind inside the opening 10 minutes. The hosts’ technical quality and high pressing eventually overwhelmed Usce, though the visitors contributed to an open and entertaining contest.

Match overview

Usce Novi Beograd made the brighter start and stunned the home side with an early goal. Rather than retreat, Partizan responded with sustained pressure, moving the ball quickly through midfield and stretching the Usce defence with runs from wide areas. The equaliser arrived midway through the first half, and from that point Partizan looked the more likely side to take control.

The second half was played at a high tempo. Partizan added to their lead with a well-worked goal and then another after a period of sustained possession. Usce kept fighting and pulled one back, but Partizan’s fourth goal in the closing stages ended any hopes of a comeback.

Tactical story

Partizan Belgrade U19 played with the confidence expected of a leading academy side. Their midfield rotated well, creating passing angles and allowing the full-backs to push forward. The high press was especially effective in the second half, forcing Usce into hurried clearances and creating repeated attacking opportunities.

Usce Novi Beograd were dangerous on the counter and showed character to keep attacking after falling behind. Their early goal came from exactly that approach: a quick transition and a calm finish. However, they struggled to cope with Partizan’s movement between the lines, and the home side’s superior possession eventually told.

Standout performers

Jovanović was the standout with two goals and constant movement in the penalty area. Pavlović controlled the tempo in midfield and capped his performance with a goal, while Ilić’s late strike underlined Partizan’s strength in depth. For Usce, Đurić and Milošević took their goals well, but the visitors could not sustain enough pressure to trouble Partizan consistently.

What the result means

The win keeps Partizan Belgrade U19 firmly in the conversation at the top of the Serbian U19 League and highlights the attacking quality within their academy ranks. For FK Usce Novi Beograd U19, the defeat is a tough one, but their two goals away from home show they can compete. The challenge now is to turn promising spells into points against the league’s stronger sides.
