IMT Novi Beograd U19 Run Riot in 7-1 Derby Win

Local derbies in youth football are usually tight, scrappy affairs. This one was anything but. IMT Novi Beograd's under-19 side overwhelmed their neighbours from start to finish, scoring seven goals and demonstrating exactly why their academy is regarded as one of the most productive in Serbian football.

FK Usce Novi Beograd U19, by contrast, endured a punishing evening. They competed for spells and never stopped running, but the gap in technical quality, physicality and finishing proved far too wide to bridge.

Match Overview

• Competition: Serbian U19 League
• Fixture: IMT Novi Beograd U19 vs FK Usce Novi Beograd U19
• Date: Friday, 2 October 2026
• Final score: IMT Novi Beograd U19 7-1 FK Usce Novi Beograd U19

The tone was set inside the opening minutes. IMT pressed aggressively, won the ball high up the pitch and scored early, settling any nerves and forcing Usce to come out of their defensive shell. From that point on, the match became a demonstration of attacking football, with IMT's midfield dictating the tempo and their forwards finding space almost at will.

First Half: IMT Take Complete Control

IMT's superiority was most obvious in the final third. Their movement off the ball pulled the Usce back line apart repeatedly, and their wide players attacked the space behind the full-backs with real intent. By the interval the game was effectively decided, with IMT having scored several goals of genuine quality — a mix of slick combination play and clinical finishing.

Usce's best moments came from set pieces and one determined counter-attack, but their defending grew more desperate as the half wore on. Too many tackles were mistimed, too many clearances fell straight back to IMT midfielders, and the pressure never relented.

Second Half: No Let-Up from the Hosts

There was no easing off after the break. IMT continued to press high, kept their passing sharp and added further goals as Usce's resistance faded. The hosts rotated their squad during the second half, giving younger players valuable derby minutes, and the intensity barely dropped.

Usce did get on the scoresheet with a well-taken consolation goal — a reward for their persistence and a moment of encouragement in an otherwise difficult night. But IMT restored their authority immediately and finished the match with a flourish, sealing a seven-goal performance that will be remembered by everyone in attendance.

Tactical Story

The game was decided by two things: pressing and transition speed. IMT's forward line hunted in packs, forcing turnovers in dangerous areas and converting them into chances almost instantly. Their midfielders were quick to recycle possession and switch the point of attack, which repeatedly caught Usce's defensive block out of shape.

Usce, meanwhile, struggled to build from the back. Their attempts to play short passes out of pressure were regularly intercepted, and when they went long, they lacked the numbers forward to make the ball stick. The one area where they competed well was in the air from set pieces, which is how they created their best moments.

For IMT's coaching staff, the performance will be particularly pleasing because the goals came from a variety of sources — wide play, central combinations, counter-attacks and set pieces. That variety is the mark of a well-coached youth side.

Standout Performers

IMT's attacking players were relentless, but the foundation was laid by their midfield. The central duo controlled the rhythm of the match, winning second balls and distributing intelligently under pressure. Out wide, the wingers caused constant problems with direct running, while the forward line's link-up play was sharp and unselfish.

For Usce, the goalkeeper made several saves to prevent an even heavier defeat, and the goalscorer showed the kind of composure that his teammates struggled to match over the full 90 minutes. The captain's leadership in a difficult match also deserves recognition.

Serbian U19 League Table Impact

A seven-goal victory does more than add three points — it strengthens goal difference, which can prove decisive in a youth league where title races and relegation battles are often separated by tiny margins. IMT Novi Beograd U19 will view this result as confirmation of their place among the stronger sides in the division.

For FK Usce Novi Beograd U19, the priority is recovery. Heavy defeats can damage confidence in young players, and the coaching sta
