Partizan Belgrade 1-0 Novi Pazar proved to be a hard-fought victory in the Serbian Mozzart Bet Superliga on Sunday 11 October 2026. A single second-half goal was enough for Partizan to take all three points, keeping them within touching distance of the league's leading pack and maintaining their strong home record.

Partizan dominated possession from the opening whistle, but Novi Pazar defended in a deep, disciplined block and made life difficult for the hosts. The first half was mostly played in Novi Pazar's half, with Partizan moving the ball from side to side in search of an opening. Tactical story

Partizan lined up in a 4-2-3-1, with their full-backs pushing high to stretch Novi Pazar's defensive block. The midfield pair kept the ball moving quickly, while the attacking midfielders drifted into half-spaces to create overloads. Partizan's patience was key: they resisted the temptation to cross aimlessly and instead waited for gaps to appear.

Novi Pazar used a 5-3-2 system without the ball, looking to deny central spaces and force Partizan wide. Their plan worked for over an hour, but the sending-off late in the game removed any chance of a comeback. Partizan's ability to maintain concentration at the back was just as important as their goal.

Standout players

Partizan's goalscorer was the obvious hero, showing excellent movement and composure in the decisive moment. The captain in midfield controlled the tempo and repeatedly broke through Novi Pazar's first line of pressure. At the back, Partizan's goalkeeper made two crucial saves, including one in stoppage time to preserve the clean sheet.

Novi Pazar's goalkeeper deserved credit for keeping his side in the match with a string of saves. Their central defender who was sent off had been excellent until that point, winning numerous duels and clearing dangerous crosses.

Table and season impact

This 1-0 win keeps Partizan Belgrade firmly in the Mozzart Bet Superliga title conversation and strengthens their position in the European qualification places. In a league where dropped points at home can be costly, grinding out narrow victories is a hallmark of serious contenders. Novi Pazar remain in the lower half of the standings and will need to improve their away form to avoid being dragged into a relegation battle.

Partizan now turn their attention to their next fixture with renewed confidence, while Novi Pazar must regroup quickly after a frustrating evening in Belgrade.
