FK Vozdovac Beograd 1-0 Jedinstvo UB: Narrow Win Keeps Vozdovac in Promotion Hunt

FK Vozdovac Beograd secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Jedinstvo UB in the Serbian Mozzart Bet Prva Liga on September 17, 2026, thanks to a second-half strike that proved enough to separate the two sides. The win moves Vozdovac into a promising position in the table and extends their unbeaten run on home soil.

Jedinstvo UB, who travelled to Belgrade with hopes of causing an upset, defended stubbornly for long periods but were ultimately undone by a moment of quality. The visitors will feel they deserved a point, but Vozdovac’s defensive resilience ensured they held on for a crucial three points.

Match Overview

The first half was a scrappy, attritional affair. Vozdovac, playing in front of their passionate home supporters, looked to impose themselves early but found Jedinstvo UB’s low block difficult to penetrate. The visitors sat deep, conceding possession but limiting space in behind. Vozdovac’s best chances came from set-pieces, with a header from a corner flashing narrowly wide.

Jedinstvo UB grew in confidence as the half progressed and created a rare opening on the counter, but their striker dragged his shot wide from the edge of the box. The teams went in level at the break, and Vozdovac’s manager clearly demanded more urgency from his players.

The deadlock was broken in the 64th minute. A driving run from midfielder Aleksandar Đurić drew two defenders, and he slipped a perfectly weighted pass into the path of striker Nemanja Radonjić, who took a touch before firing low into the corner. The goal was greeted with a roar from the home crowd, and Vozdovac nearly added a second moments later when a curling effort struck the post.

Jedinstvo UB pushed men forward in the closing stages, but Vozdovac’s backline—led by the commanding captain, Marko Jovanović—stood firm. The visitors’ best chance came in the 88th minute from a free-kick, but the ball sailed over the bar, and Vozdovac saw out the remaining minutes comfortably.

Key Moments

• 64’ – Goal: Nemanja Radonjić scores the only goal of the game with a precise low finish.
• 67’ – Post: Vozdovac’s winger curls an effort against the post as they hunt a second.
• 78’ – Save: Jedinstvo’s goalkeeper makes a smart stop to keep his team in the game.
• 88’ – Chance: Jedinstvo’s free-kick from a promising position goes over the crossbar.
• 90+3’ – Clearance: Vozdovac’s defence clears a dangerous cross to seal the win.

Tactical Story

Vozdovac lined up in a 4-2-3-1 and struggled initially to break down a well-drilled Jedinstvo UB side. The hosts’ full-backs pushed high, but Jedinstvo’s wingers tracked back diligently, creating a five-man defence at times. Vozdovac’s breakthrough came when they started to play more vertically, with Đurić’s driving runs from midfield causing chaos.

Jedinstvo UB’s 4-5-1 was designed to frustrate and counter, and it worked for over an hour. However, once they conceded, they lacked the creative spark to break down Vozdovac’s organised defence. The visitors’ substitutions failed to make an impact, and Vozdovac’s game management in the final 15 minutes was textbook.

Standout Performers

Nemanja Radonjić (FK Vozdovac Beograd): The striker was the match-winner, taking his goal with composure and leading the line with intelligence. He held the ball up well and brought others into play.

Aleksandar Đurić (FK Vozdovac Beograd): The midfielder was the driving force behind the victory, providing the assist and constantly looking to break lines. His energy and vision were a constant threat.

Marko Jovanović (FK Vozdovac Beograd): The captain marshalled his defence expertly, making several crucial interceptions and winning every header. A clean sheet was the foundation of this win.

What It Means for the Table

This victory keeps FK Vozdovac Beograd firmly in the promotion conversation, and their home form is becoming a significant asset. Jedinstvo UB, meanwhile, remain in the lower half of the table and will need to find goals from somewhere if they are to climb away from danger. The defeat was harsh on the visitors, who defended admirably, but football is decided by moments of quality—and Vozdovac had the player to provide it. The two teams will meet again later in the season, and Jedinstvo will be determined to avenge this narrow loss.
