FK Loznica and FK Vrsac played out a 1-1 draw in the Serbian Mozzart Bet Prva Liga on 25 October 2026, with both sides scoring in a closely contested match. Loznica took the lead in the first half, but Vrsac responded after the break to earn a share of the points.

The result leaves both teams with plenty to ponder. Loznica will be disappointed not to have held on to their advantage, while Vrsac will take confidence from their second-half response. In a league where every point matters, the draw is a reminder of how tight the competition is.

Match overview

FK Loznica started the match on the front foot, pressing high and looking to force mistakes in the Vrsac defence. Their early pressure paid off in the 38th minute when Nikola Jovanović found space inside the penalty area and finished calmly past the goalkeeper. The goal was the reward for a patient build-up and a well-timed run from midfield.

Vrsac responded well to going behind. They increased their intensity after the break and began to win more second balls in midfield. The equalizer arrived in the 69th minute when Stefan Marković struck a low shot from the edge of the area that beat the goalkeeper at his near post. It was a goal that had been coming, as Vrsac had been growing into the game.

Both sides pushed for a winner in the final 20 minutes. Loznica brought on fresh attacking options and sent more crosses into the box, while Vrsac looked dangerous on the counter. In the end, neither team could find the decisive goal, and the points were shared.

• 22nd minute: Loznica’s first clear chance ended with a header that went just wide of the post.
• 38th minute: Nikola Jovanović gave Loznica the lead with a composed finish inside the box.
• 54th minute: Vrsac’s best chance of the first half came from a free-kick, but the shot was saved.

Tactical story

Loznica’s game plan was built on high pressing and quick combinations in the final third. They tried to win the ball back quickly and create chances through central areas, and their goal came from exactly that approach. However, they struggled to maintain that intensity for the full 90 minutes and allowed Vrsac back into the game.

Vrsac were more patient in possession and looked to exploit space on the wings. Their equalizer came from a moment of individual quality, but it was the result of sustained pressure after the break. Vrsac’s midfielders did a better job of controlling the tempo in the second half, and their substitutions added fresh energy in the final third.

Standout performers

Nikola Jovanović was Loznica’s brightest player, scoring the opening goal and causing problems with his movement. Stefan Marković was the key figure for Vrsac, scoring the equalizer and driving his team forward from midfield. Both goalkeepers made important saves to keep their sides in the game, while the centre-backs on both sides dealt well with aerial threats.

What the result means

The draw keeps FK Loznica and FK Vrsac in the middle of the Serbian Mozzart Bet Prva Liga table, with both sides still in contention for a strong finish. Loznica will need to learn to manage leads better if they are to challenge for promotion, while Vrsac can take heart from their second-half performance. With plenty of matches remaining, both teams will be looking to build on this point in the coming weeks.
