Borac Cacak 0-0 Napredak Krusevac: Goalless Draw Leaves Both Sides Frustrated

Borac Cacak and FK Napredak Krusevac played out a 0-0 draw in the Serbian Mozzart Bet Prva Liga at Stadion kraj Morave, with the goalkeepers taking centre stage in a tense, tactical contest. A saved penalty and several late chances ensured the game remained absorbing despite the lack of goals.

Both sides came into the match looking to strengthen their position in the standings, but neither was able to find the breakthrough. Borac will feel they had the better of the second half, while Napredak will point to their first-half penalty as the moment that got away.

Match Overview

The opening exchanges were cagey, with both teams cautious about committing too many players forward. Borac tried to build through midfield, while Napredak looked to use direct balls into the channels. The first half was short on clear chances, but it was not short on intensity, with several crunching tackles in the middle of the park.

The game opened up after the break as both sides pushed for a winner. Borac struck the crossbar from a header, and Napredak had a strong appeal for a second penalty waved away. In the end, the defences held firm and the points were shared.

Key Moments

• 22nd minute: Napredak were awarded a penalty, but Borac’s goalkeeper Stefan Vukić guessed correctly and saved the spot-kick.
• 38th minute: Borac headed against the crossbar from a corner as the hosts began to threaten.
• 61st minute: Napredak’s striker dragged a shot wide from a promising position inside the box.
• 79th minute: Borac worked a shooting chance on the edge of the area, but the effort was blocked.
• 90+2 minutes: Vukić produced another save to deny Napredak a late winner.

Tactical Story

Borac lined up with a 4-2-3-1 and tried to control the game through possession, but Napredak’s compact midfield made it difficult to find space between the lines. The visitors pressed selectively and looked to spring forward on the counter, particularly after winning the ball in wide areas.

The penalty save gave Borac a lift, and they enjoyed their best spell after half-time. However, Napredak’s defensive organisation remained strong, and the visitors were dangerous on the break until the final whistle. It was a match that underlined the importance of small margins in the Prva Liga, where a single moment can decide the outcome.

Standout Performers

Vukić was the hero for Borac with the penalty save and a late stop that preserved the draw. The centre-back partnership also dealt well with Napredak’s direct play. For the visitors, the midfield anchor was excellent at breaking up attacks, while their goalkeeper handled several crosses confidently under pressure.

Table and Season Impact

A point apiece keeps both teams in the promotion conversation but leaves them with a sense of what might have been. Borac will be pleased with the clean sheet and the character shown after the early penalty scare, while Napredak will rue the missed opportunity from 12 yards. In a league where away points are precious, the draw is far from a disaster for either side, but both will know that converting dominant spells into goals is the next step.
