Inverness and East Fife Share Spoils in 1-1 Draw

Inverness Caledonian Thistle and East Fife fought out a 1-1 draw in their Scottish League Cup group stage encounter at the Caledonian Stadium on July 11. The result leaves both sides with a point each from their opening match.

East Fife took a surprise lead in the 15th minute. A swift move down the left flank saw midfielder Alan Trouten deliver a low cross, which was turned home by striker Nathan Austin at the near post. Inverness responded well, with Billy Mckay forcing a save from East Fife goalkeeper Jordan Hart.

The home side levelled in the 63rd minute. A corner kick from the right was cleared only as far as David Carson, who volleyed the ball back into the box.
