The visitors’ movement, pressing, and finishing proved too much for the home defence.

Tactical story

Wil 1900 Women’s pressing was a key feature of the match. They consistently forced FC Oerlikon Women into hurried passes and won possession in dangerous areas. When they had the ball, Wil attacked with purpose, using width to stretch the defence and getting numbers into the box. Their transitions were particularly effective, turning defence into attack within seconds.

FC Oerlikon Women tried to build from the back and had spells of possession, but they were hurt by turnovers in midfield. The home side’s equaliser showed what they were capable of, but they struggled to sustain pressure after Wil regained the lead. As Oerlikon pushed forward in the second half, spaces opened up, and Wil took full advantage.

Standout performers

Wil 1900 Women’s forward line was the difference. Their movement caused constant problems for the Oerlikon defence, and their finishing was clinical. The midfield also played a crucial role, winning second balls and setting the tempo. At the back, Wil defended well when called upon, particularly during Oerlikon’s best spell in the first half.

For FC Oerlikon Women, the equalising goal was a bright moment, and their attacking players showed flashes of quality. However, the team’s defensive organisation let them down at key moments. The goalkeeper made several saves, but the sheer volume of Wil’s attacks proved too much to withstand.

Table impact

The 4-1 win is a significant result for Wil 1900 Women in the SBW standings, boosting their goal difference and sending a strong message about their attacking potential. For FC Oerlikon Women, the defeat highlights the need for greater defensive concentration and better ball retention under pressure.

Wil 1900 Women will look to carry this momentum into their next fixture, while FC Oerlikon Women must regroup quickly. In a league where goal difference and consistency can shape the final standings, Wil’s emphatic away victory could prove valuable. Oerlikon, meanwhile, will need a response to avoid letting this result define their season.
