Tre Penne produced a composed and clinical cup performance to beat AC Juvenes 3-1 in their San Marino Cup tie, using a strong second-half display to pull away after an evenly contested opening period. The match, played on 28 October 2026, was decided by Tre Penne’s ability to turn possession into dangerous attacks and by their sharper finishing in the final third.

Match overview

AC Juvenes began with energy and tried to press high, but Tre Penne remained calm in possession and gradually imposed themselves on the game. The visitors opened the scoring in the 18th minute when Matteo Cecchetti arrived late in the box and finished neatly from a low cross. Juvenes responded well, equalising four minutes before half-time through Alessandro Guidi, whose curling effort from the edge of the area beat the goalkeeper.

The second half was a different story. Tre Penne raised their tempo, won more second balls in midfield and retook the lead in the 58th minute through Nicola Gai, who converted from close range after a goalmouth scramble. Juvenes pushed forward in search of another equaliser, but Tre Penne managed the spaces well and sealed the result in the 82nd minute when Lorenzo Gasperoni broke clear and finished calmly one-on-one.

Key moments

• 18’ – Tre Penne goal: Matteo Cecchetti opens the scoring after a well-worked move down the right.
• 41’ – AC Juvenes equaliser: Alessandro Guidi curls a fine effort beyond the goalkeeper.
• 58’ – Tre Penne retake the lead: Nicola Gai pounces in the box after Juvenes fail to clear.
• 82’ – Tre Penne seal it: Lorenzo Gasperoni finishes a rapid counter-attack to make it 3-1.

Tactical story

Tre Penne’s midfield control was the foundation of the win. They were patient in build-up, but once they moved the ball into wide areas, they created overloads and forced AC Juvenes into rushed clearances. Juvenes had spells of pressure, especially late in the first half, but they struggled to sustain attacks after the interval. Tre Penne’s decision to press higher after half-time disrupted Juvenes’ rhythm and created the errors that led to the decisive goals.

Standout players

Cecchetti and Gai were the key attacking figures for Tre Penne, combining movement with composure in the box. Gasperoni’s late goal capped a strong all-round contribution, while the Tre Penne defence recovered well after conceding before half-time. For AC Juvenes, Guidi was the brightest performer, and his equaliser briefly gave the home side real momentum.

What it means

The 3-1 scoreline gives Tre Penne a convincing cup result and a useful boost in confidence. AC Juvenes will take encouragement from their first-half response, but the manner of the second-half goals will frustrate them. In a competition where knockout ties can turn quickly, Tre Penne’s ability to finish chances at important moments proved the difference.
