Lokomotiv Moscow Women claimed a narrow but valuable 1-0 away win over FC Krasnodar Women in the Russian Women’s Premier League on 24 October 2026. A single second-half goal settled a tightly contested match, giving Lokomotiv three important points in the title race and leaving Krasnodar to reflect on a game in which they enjoyed possession but lacked the final cutting edge.

Match overview

FC Krasnodar Women began brightly and tried to impose themselves through patient build-up and quick combinations in midfield. Lokomotiv Moscow Women, however, were content to sit in a compact shape, absorb pressure and strike on the break. The first half produced few clear chances, with both defences alert to the danger and the midfield battle preventing either side from establishing sustained control. The decisive moment came after the break, when Lokomotiv converted one of their best attacking transitions.

Key moments

• 22nd minute: Krasnodar created the first real opening, but a low shot from the edge of the box was held by the Lokomotiv goalkeeper.
• 48th minute: Lokomotiv threatened on the counter, forcing a corner with a driven effort from the right.
• 63rd minute: The breakthrough arrived for Lokomotiv, who finished calmly after a quick move through the middle.
• 81st minute: Krasnodar pushed bodies forward in search of an equaliser, but Lokomotiv’s defence dealt with a series of crosses.

Tactical story

Krasnodar’s game plan revolved around controlling possession and creating overloads in wide areas, but Lokomotiv’s midfield block made it difficult for them to find space between the lines. The visitors defended with discipline and looked to release their forwards into the channels whenever Krasnodar lost the ball. That approach paid off with the winning goal, and Lokomotiv then dropped deeper to protect their advantage, conceding territory but rarely allowing a clear sight of goal. It was a mature away performance built on compactness and timing.

Standout performers

Lokomotiv’s goalkeeper was influential, handling several crosses confidently and making a crucial late save to preserve the clean sheet. The goalscorer deserves credit for a composed finish in a low-scoring match, while the central defenders were excellent in managing Krasnodar’s late pressure. For Krasnodar, the midfield worked hard to keep the team moving forward, but the attacking line lacked the sharpness needed to break down a well-organised opponent.

Season impact

The win keeps Lokomotiv Moscow Women firmly in the conversation at the top of the Russian Women’s Premier League, where every point matters in a competitive title race. For FC Krasnodar Women, the defeat is a frustrating one because they competed well for long periods but were undone by a single lapse. Both teams will take lessons from a tight contest, but it is Lokomotiv who leave with the momentum.
