CSKA Moscow Women Beat Ryazan-VDV Women 2-0 in Russian Women’s Premier League

CSKA Moscow Women claimed a controlled 2-0 victory over Ryazan-VDV Women on 18 October 2026 in the Russian Women’s Premier League. The home side’s two-goal win was built on a strong first-half platform, disciplined defending and a midfield performance that kept Ryazan at arm’s length for much of the contest.

With three points secured, CSKA maintained their reputation as one of the league’s most consistent sides, while Ryazan-VDV were left to reflect on a match in which they competed physically but struggled to create enough clear chances.

Match Overview

CSKA began the match with intent, pressing high and forcing Ryazan into early mistakes. The home team’s dominance in possession soon translated into chances, and the opening goal arrived as reward for their aggressive start. Ryazan responded with a more compact defensive shape, but CSKA’s movement in wide areas continued to cause problems.

The second goal gave CSKA a comfortable cushion and allowed them to manage the game with greater control after the break. Ryazan-VDV worked hard to reduce the deficit, but CSKA’s back line remained well organised and limited the visitors to speculative efforts from distance.

The final score of CSKA Moscow Women 2-0 Ryazan-VDV Women reflected CSKA’s superiority in possession and their ability to convert pressure into goals.

Key Moments

• Early pressure: CSKA forced a series of corners and half-chances before making the breakthrough.
• Opening goal: A quick attacking move opened up Ryazan’s defence and gave CSKA the lead.
• Second goal: CSKA doubled their advantage before half-time, punishing Ryazan for losing possession in midfield.
• Second-half management: The home side slowed the tempo and protected their lead with mature game management.

Tactical Story

CSKA’s approach was built on controlling the centre of the pitch. Their midfielders pressed aggressively when Ryazan tried to play out from the back and then moved the ball quickly into the attacking third. The wingers stretched the defence, creating space for central runners and allowing CSKA to sustain attacks.

Ryazan-VDV defended in a deeper block after conceding, which made it harder for CSKA to find easy routes through the middle. However, the visitors’ inability to hold the ball for long spells meant they were often defending again soon after winning possession. CSKA’s patience and superior territorial control made the second half relatively comfortable.

Standout Performers

CSKA’s midfield dictated the rhythm of the match, combining energy with intelligent positioning. The defence also deserved credit for a clean sheet, especially during the period after half-time when Ryazan tried to push forward in search of a way back into the game. Up front, CSKA’s movement and link-up play consistently troubled the visiting defence.

For Ryazan-VDV, the goalkeeper and centre-backs produced several important interventions, but the team lacked the attacking spark needed to turn periods of pressure into goals.

Season Impact

The win keeps CSKA Moscow Women firmly in the conversation at the top end of the Russian Women’s Premier League table. For Ryazan-VDV, the focus will shift to improving their attacking output in the next fixtures. CSKA’s clean sheet and two-goal margin made this a professional home performance with both immediate and longer-term value.
