Spartak Moscow Youth and Dinamo Makhachkala Youth played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in the RUS M-League on October 23, 2026, with a late equaliser denying Spartak a home victory in a match that swung repeatedly between control and counter-attack.

Match overview

Spartak Moscow Youth began the game with the confidence of a side eager to impose itself at home, pressing high and forcing Dinamo Makhachkala Youth into a series of early clearances. The breakthrough arrived when Ilya Sokolov collected the ball on the edge of the area, shifted onto his right foot and finished low beyond the goalkeeper. Spartak’s lead was deserved after a bright opening spell, but Makhachkala responded with composure rather than panic.

Dinamo Makhachkala Youth gradually found space in behind the Spartak full-backs and equalised before the interval through Magomed Aliev, who converted a quick counter-attacking move with a calm finish. That goal changed the mood of the contest and set up a second half in which both teams traded momentum.

Key moments

Spartak restored their advantage early in the second period when Artem Belov met a corner with a powerful header, sparking renewed urgency from the home side. For a while, Spartak looked capable of pulling away, but Makhachkala stayed compact and continued to threaten on the break. The equaliser arrived late when Murad Gadzhiev found space at the edge of the box and guided a low shot into the corner.

• Opening goal: Ilya Sokolov gave Spartak Moscow Youth the lead with a composed finish.
• First equaliser: Magomed Aliev capitalised on a fast Makhachkala transition.

Tactical story

Spartak Moscow Youth controlled long spells through midfield rotation and wide overlaps, but their high defensive line left room for Makhachkala’s direct running. Dinamo Makhachkala Youth were disciplined without the ball, often conceding possession in harmless areas before breaking quickly through the channels. The contrast between Spartak’s patient build-up and Makhachkala’s vertical counter-attacks made the draw feel like a fair reflection of the night’s chances.

Standout players and table impact

Belov’s aerial threat and Sokolov’s movement were central to Spartak’s attacking play, while Gadzhiev’s late composure underlined Makhachkala’s resilience. The point keeps both youth sides in a competitive mid-table group, with Spartak ruing two dropped points at home and Dinamo Makhachkala taking encouragement from a strong away performance.
