Strogino took the lead in the 17th minute after a patient move ended with a shot from the edge of the area that found the bottom corner. Kvant responded well and equalised in the 39th minute, capitalising on a set piece with a close-range finish after the ball was not cleared properly.

The visitors regained control after the break and went ahead again in the 63rd minute when their midfielder arrived late in the box to convert a cutback. Strogino sealed the win in the 88th minute with a counterattacking goal, finishing calmly after Kvant had committed players forward in search of an equaliser.

Key moments

• 17’: Strogino open the scoring with a low strike from distance.
• 39’: Kvant equalise from a set-piece scramble.
• 63’: Strogino restore their lead with a late run into the box.
• 88’: Strogino clinch the win on the counterattack.

Strogino’s pressing structure forced Kvant into long balls for much of the second half, and their midfield won the majority of second balls. Kvant’s best route to goal was through set pieces and crosses, but they struggled to sustain pressure once Strogino slowed the tempo. The visitors’ movement between the lines created gaps that Kvant could not close consistently.

Standout performers

Strogino’s central midfielder dictated play and scored the crucial second goal, while their forward line stretched the Kvant defence throughout. Kvant’s goalkeeper made a number of saves to keep the home side in the contest, and their set-piece delivery was a constant threat. Ultimately, Strogino’s sharper finishing in the final 25 minutes decided the match.

Table impact

The three points strengthen Strogino Moscow’s position in the RUS D3B standings and highlight their ability to win on the road. Kvant Obninsk will rue their failure to build on the equaliser, but the performance showed enough attacking intent to suggest they can pick up points in the coming fixtures. Strogino’s late-game management was the difference.
