FK Csikszereda Miercurea Ciuc Women delivered a clinical away performance to beat Universitatea Craiova (W) 2-0 in the Romanian SuperLiga Feminină on 25 October 2026. Two well-taken goals and a disciplined defensive display gave the visitors all three points in Craiova.

The result strengthens Csikszereda’s position in the Romanian SuperLiga Feminină table and hands Universitatea Craiova a frustrating home defeat. Craiova saw plenty of the ball, especially in the first half, but struggled to turn possession into clear chances against a compact and organised opponent.

Match Overview

Universitatea Craiova began the match with intent, pressing high and looking to use the width of the pitch. The home side created a couple of early half-chances, but Csikszereda’s back line held firm and gradually grew into the game. The visitors’ midfield began to close the gaps between the lines and force Craiova into sideways passing.

Csikszereda took the lead in the 31st minute with a well-worked set piece. A free kick from the right was flicked on at the near post and converted at the back post to silence the home crowd. Craiova responded with renewed urgency before half-time, but the visitors’ goalkeeper made two important saves to preserve the lead.

The second goal arrived in the 67th minute and effectively settled the contest. Csikszereda won the ball in midfield, moved it quickly to the left wing, and a low cross was finished confidently by the arriving forward. Craiova pushed forward in the final 20 minutes, but Csikszereda’s defensive discipline and game management saw the match out comfortably.

Tactical Story

Craiova’s approach was built on possession and patient build-up, but they often found themselves playing in front of Csikszereda’s defensive block. The visitors defended narrow, forcing Craiova’s wide players into crosses that were comfortably dealt with by the centre-backs. When Csikszereda won the ball, they attacked quickly through the channels and looked to exploit the space left by Craiova’s advanced full-backs.

The key to Csikszereda’s win was their efficiency in transition. They did not need many chances to score twice, and their midfield balance allowed them to protect the back four when Craiova increased the pressure. Craiova’s inability to find a goal early in the second half proved costly, as Csikszereda grew more confident with the lead.

Standout Players

Csikszereda’s centre-forward was central to the win, leading the line with intelligent movement and scoring the second goal. The left winger was a constant threat on the counter, while the goalkeeper made crucial saves at key moments. In midfield, the deeper player read the game well and broke up several Craiova attacks.

For Universitatea Craiova, the central midfielder worked tirelessly to keep the team moving forward, and the goalkeeper made several good stops to prevent a larger margin of defeat. The home side’s captain tried to drive the team on, but Craiova lacked the final pass in the attacking third.

What the Result Means

FK Csikszereda Miercurea Ciuc Women leave Craiova with a valuable away win, boosting their confidence and their position in the Romanian SuperLiga Feminină standings.
