Farul Constanta won a remarkable 4-3 thriller against FC Otelul Galati in the Romanian Super Liga on 25 October 2026. Seven goals, momentum swings and a late winner made this one of the most entertaining matches of the season so far.

Match overview

Farul started brightly and raced into an early lead, but Otelul refused to fold. The visitors fought back to level the scores, only for Farul to edge ahead again before half-time. The second half was equally chaotic, with both defences struggling to contain wave after wave of attacking play.

At 4-3, Farul managed to see out the closing minutes, but not before Otelul had one final chance to snatch a point. The home crowd breathed a sigh of relief at the final whistle.

• 8th minute: Farul opened the scoring with a sharp finish after a quick passing move.

Tactical story

Both teams prioritised attack over defence, and the result was a match full of transitions and open spaces. Farul’s midfield struggled to protect the back four, but their forward line was ruthless in front of goal. Otelul exposed Farul’s defensive frailty repeatedly but were undone by their own lapses at the other end.

The game was decided by Farul’s ability to create one more clear chance than their opponents. Their movement in the final third was excellent, and the winning goal came from a well-timed run that split the Otelul defence. It was not a defensive masterclass, but it was compelling entertainment.

Standout performers

Farul’s attacking players were the difference, with the forward line combining well and taking their chances. The penalty taker showed composure, and the midfielder who assisted the winner was a constant creative threat. Otelul’s forwards caused problems all evening, but their defensive errors proved costly.

Season impact

The win gives Farul a valuable three points in the Romanian Super Liga standings and boosts confidence after a mixed run of form. Otelul will be frustrated to have scored three away goals and still lost, but their attacking display offers encouragement. For neutrals, this was a reminder of why the Romanian top flight can produce unforgettable matches.
