Vaslui claimed a controlled 2-0 victory over CSM Adjud in Romanian Liga III on 17 October 2026. The 8:00 PM match saw the home side take the lead in the first half and add a second after the break, with a disciplined defensive display protecting the three points.

The win is an important one for Vaslui’s standing in the Liga III table and extends a positive run on home soil. CSM Adjud, meanwhile, will look back on missed opportunities in the first half as the key to their defeat.

Match Overview

Vaslui began with intent, pressing CSM Adjud high and forcing turnovers in midfield. The breakthrough came midway through the first half when a quick move down the right created space for a low finish into the corner. Adjud responded well, creating a couple of half-chances from set pieces, but could not find an equaliser before the interval.

The second half was more controlled by Vaslui. They slowed the tempo, kept possession and waited for openings. The decisive second goal arrived with around 20 minutes remaining, a composed finish after Adjud failed to clear their lines. From there, the home side managed the game professionally, limiting the visitors to long-range efforts.

Key Moments

• First-half opener: Vaslui’s right-sided attack created the opening goal with a low finish.
• Adjud response: The visitors threatened from set pieces but could not find the target.
• Second-half clincher: Vaslui capitalised on a defensive mistake to double their lead.
• Late control: The home defence held firm as CSM Adjud pushed forward in the final minutes.

Tactical Story

Vaslui’s success was built on a balanced approach. They pressed aggressively in the first half, winning the ball in advanced areas and creating problems for Adjud’s back line. Once ahead, they dropped slightly deeper and focused on maintaining structure, making it difficult for the visitors to find central spaces.

CSM Adjud tried to respond by switching play and using their wide players, but Vaslui’s full-backs defended well and the midfield screen protected the centre-backs. The second goal forced Adjud to commit more men forward, which only played into Vaslui’s hands as they saw out the game.

Standout Performers

Vaslui’s midfield was the engine room of the performance, winning second balls and keeping the team composed in possession. The striker’s movement created space for the opening goal, while the defence stayed organized under late pressure. For CSM Adjud, the goalkeeper made several saves to keep the score respectable, and their central midfielder worked tirelessly despite the result.

Season Impact

The 2-0 win gives Vaslui a valuable three points in the Romanian Liga III standings and reinforces their home form. CSM Adjud leave with nothing but can take some encouragement from their first-half spells. In a long Liga III campaign, home victories like this often prove decisive, and Vaslui’s ability to close out the match will please their coaching staff.
