The second half was a tense affair, but Inter Sibiu's persistence paid off with a well-taken winner in the 78th minute.

Match Overview

Inter Sibiu lined up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, looking to control the game through their midfield playmaker. Teleajenul Valeni de Munte, meanwhile, set up in a defensive 4-5-1, aiming to frustrate their hosts and hit on the counter. That plan worked perfectly for the opening quarter, as Inter Sibiu struggled to find rhythm and conceded against the run of play.

After the goal, Inter Sibiu increased the tempo, pressing higher and forcing Teleajenul into mistakes. Their persistence was rewarded in the 41st minute when Andrei Popa fired home from the edge of the box. The second half saw Inter Sibiu continue to push forward, and their dominance was finally rewarded when Cristian Ionescu scored the winner with a clever near-post finish.

Tactical Story

Inter Sibiu's manager made a smart tactical adjustment after conceding, pushing his wing-backs higher and instructing his midfielders to make more runs into the box. This overloaded Teleajenul's defence and created the space for Popa's equaliser. In the second half, Inter Sibiu continued to dominate territorially, and their patience was rewarded with a well-worked winning goal.

Teleajenul Valeni de Munte will be disappointed to leave empty-handed. Their defensive organisation was excellent for long periods, and their counterattacking caused problems. However, they sat too deep after equalising and invited pressure, which ultimately led to the decisive goal. It was a lesson in game management at a crucial stage of the season.

Standout Players

Cristian Ionescu was the match-winner for FC Inter Sibiu, showing great footwork and composure to score the decisive goal. Andrei Popa was also outstanding, not only for his equaliser but for his tireless running and link-up play. The Inter Sibiu goalkeeper made a crucial late save to preserve the victory, while the centre-backs were solid after a shaky opening.

For CSO Teleajenul Valeni de Munte, Mihai Dobre was the standout performer, taking his goal excellently and leading the line with intelligence. The goalkeeper made several fine saves to keep the score level for as long as he did, and the captain organised the defence well. Unfortunately for them, it was not enough to secure a positive result.

Romanian Liga III Table Impact

The win keeps FC Inter Sibiu in contention for promotion from Romanian Liga III, closing the gap on the teams above them. For CSO Teleajenul Valeni de Munte, the defeat leaves them needing to bounce back quickly to maintain their own ambitions. In a league where consistency is key, Inter Sibiu's ability to win ugly could prove invaluable in the months ahead.

Both sides will take lessons from this match. Inter Sibiu showed resilience and attacking quality, but they will want to avoid conceding first in future games. Teleajenul Valeni de Munte demonstrated that they can compete with the division's stronger teams, and if they can manage games better in the final stages, they will pick up more points. The Liga III promotion race remains wide open, and this result adds another twist to the story.
