Tactical Story

FC Drobeta Turnu Severin lined up with a midfield diamond that allowed them to dominate central areas. Their full-backs provided width, stretching the Craiova B defence and creating overloads on the flanks. The home side's pressing was well coordinated, and they consistently won the ball back in advanced positions, which led to several clear chances.

CS Universitatea Craiova B tried to play through the thirds but struggled against Drobeta's compact shape. Their goal came from a rare moment of transition, but they found it difficult to sustain attacks. Defensively, Craiova B were troubled by Drobeta's set pieces and crosses, conceding twice from wide deliveries. The young side showed flashes of quality but lacked the consistency to match their hosts over 90 minutes.

Standout Players

Drobeta Turnu Severin's central midfielder was the engine of the team, dictating tempo, breaking up play, and scoring the crucial third goal. The striker who opened the scoring was a constant nuisance, holding up the ball and linking with runners. The centre-back who headed in the second goal was dominant in the air at both ends of the pitch.

For CS Universitatea Craiova B, the goalscoring forward was lively and took his chance well. The goalkeeper made several saves to prevent a heavier defeat, while the captain tried to drive the team forward from midfield. Despite the loss, the reserve side will take some positives from their second-half response.

Table and Season Impact

The 3-1 victory strengthens FC Drobeta Turnu Severin's position in the Romanian Liga III standings, adding three points and boosting their goal difference. Drobeta have shown they can grind out results at home, which is vital in a division where every point matters. The win also extends their positive run and builds confidence ahead of upcoming fixtures.

CS Universitatea Craiova B remain in a development phase, and results like this are part of the learning curve. They will need to improve their defensive concentration and find more consistency in possession. With the season progressing, both teams will look to build on this match: Drobeta pushing for a higher finish, and Craiova B seeking to climb the table.
