CS FC Petrolul ZF1948 Berca won an eight-goal thriller 5-3 away to CSO Plopeni in Romanian Liga III on 24 October 2026. The match delivered non-stop attacking football, with Berca’s clinical finishing and Robert Neagu’s hat-trick proving the difference in a wildly entertaining contest.

Match overview

The teams were level at 2-2 after a breathless first half. Berca struck first, Plopeni responded, and the lead changed hands before the interval. The second half belonged largely to the visitors, who scored twice in quick succession to move 5-2 ahead before Plopeni grabbed a late consolation. The result reflects Berca’s ruthlessness in front of goal and Plopeni’s difficulty in managing transitions.

• 12’ — Robert Neagu gives Berca an early lead.
• 21’ — Daniel Ciobanu equalises for CSO Plopeni.
• 28’ — Berca restore their advantage through Alexandru Toma.

Tactical story

Both sides committed numbers forward, leaving large spaces in midfield and defence. Berca were more efficient in those moments, repeatedly breaking through Plopeni’s back line with direct passes and well-timed runs. Plopeni created chances of their own and scored twice, but their defensive shape was stretched too often, especially after half-time when Berca raised the tempo.

Standout performers

Robert Neagu was the match-winner with a superb hat-trick, showing pace, movement, and calm finishing. Alexandru Toma and Ionut Vasile also made important contributions in the final third. For Plopeni, Daniel Ciobanu’s two goals were a positive note, while Marius Pavel’s first-half equaliser briefly gave the home side hope. Ultimately, Berca’s attacking quality was too much to contain.

Season impact

The win gives CS FC Petrolul ZF1948 Berca an important three points and a memorable away result in Romanian Liga III. Scoring five goals on the road can do wonders for confidence, particularly in a match where the defensive lines were tested repeatedly. CSO Plopeni will be frustrated by conceding five at home, but their ability to score three times shows there are attacking foundations to build on.
