CSM Flacăra Moreni produced one of the standout performances of the Liga III round on Friday 2 October 2026, dismantling CSM Râmnicu Sărat 5-1 away from home in a match that was effectively decided long before the final whistle. The visitors' ruthlessness in front of goal turned a competitive-looking fixture into a rout, and the scoreline will be noted across the division.

Match overview

Râmnicu Sărat went into the game hoping home advantage would give them a platform, but the evening unravelled quickly. Moreni pressed high, won the ball in advanced areas and attacked with numbers, converting territorial pressure into goals at a rate the hosts simply could not live with.

By the time the game reached its closing stages, the contest had become a damage-limitation exercise for the home side, whose single goal offered only brief consolation on an otherwise bruising night in front of their own supporters.

Key moments

• Early breakthrough: Moreni struck first and never looked back, setting the tone for an evening in which they were sharper in every department.
• The decisive burst: A cluster of goals in quick succession effectively ended the match as a contest, exposing gaps in the home defence that had been visible from the opening exchanges.
• Râmnicu Sărat's reply: The hosts pulled a goal back, offering a short-lived lift and a reminder that they carried a threat when they managed to get the ball forward quickly.
• Late finish: Moreni restored and extended their cushion, rounding off the scoring at 5-1 to complete a comprehensive away win.

Tactical story

The game was won in midfield. Moreni's central pair pressed aggressively and repeatedly intercepted passes aimed into Râmnicu Sărat's midfield, turning defence into attack within seconds. Their wide players stretched the pitch, pulling the home full-backs out of position and opening the channels for runners arriving from deep.

Râmnicu Sărat's difficulties were compounded by their own ambition. Chasing the game early, they pushed their defensive line higher than was comfortable, and Moreni's forwards punished that repeatedly with well-timed runs in behind. Once the deficit grew, the home side's structure became increasingly ragged, and the visitors' confidence swelled with every goal.

Standout performers

Moreni's attacking unit was the story of the night, with the forward line combining movement and link-up play to pull the home defence apart. The midfield enforcers who set the tempo deserve equal praise, winning the ball back consistently and distributing it quickly. For Râmnicu Sărat, the goalkeeper was left exposed far too often, while the goal scorer was one of the few players to emerge with credit.

What it means in the standings

A five-goal away performance is a statement result in Liga III, where travel is long and wins on the road are notoriously hard to come by. Moreni will take enormous confidence from the margin of victory, and the goal difference boost could prove valuable when the table tightens later in the season.

For CSM Râmnicu Sărat, the defeat is a heavy one that will demand an immediate response. Conceding five at home raises questions about defensive organisation and game management, and the coaching staff will be working through the footage before the next fixture. In a division where momentum swings quickly, the priority now is a clean sheet and a result to stop the slide.
