CS Portul Constanta 0-1 CS Agigea — CS Agigea claimed a hard-fought local bragging rights on Saturday, 19 September 2026, edging CS Portul Constanta 1-0 in a tightly contested Romanian Liga III match that was decided by a single moment of quality.

A cagey opening

The match began cautiously, with both sides prioritising defensive solidity in what was clearly a game neither wanted to lose. CS Portul Constanta controlled a lot of possession in the early stages, patiently building from the back and looking to find gaps in the Agigea defence. But the visitors kept their shape well, closing down space in midfield and limiting clear chances.

The decisive goal

The only goal of the game arrived at a crucial moment. A quick transition from defence to attack caught Portul Constanta with too many players forward, and a well-timed run into the penalty area was finished with composure. It was a goal that perfectly captured the game's pattern: Agigea absorbing pressure and then striking with speed and precision.

Second half: Portul push, Agigea hold firm

Trailing at the break, CS Portul Constanta pushed more players forward in the second half and created a handful of half-chances. The Agigea goalkeeper was called into action more than once, and a couple of last-ditch blocks kept the lead intact. As the game wore on, the hosts grew more frustrated, and Agigea's disciplined defensive display saw them through to full time.

• Final result: CS Portul Constanta 0-1 CS Agigea
• Competition: Romanian Liga III
• Date: 19 September 2026
• Match winner: A single first-half goal proved enough for the visitors

Standout performers and what it means

Agigea's back line was the story of the match, with the centre-backs dominant in the air and the full-backs alert to the danger out wide. The goalscorer will take the headlines, but the clean sheet was a collective effort. For Portul Constanta, the defeat is a frustrating one given the amount of possession they enjoyed, and the lack of a cutting edge in the final third will be the main focus for the coaching staff.

Liga III table context

The three points are hugely valuable for CS Agigea in the Romanian Liga III standings, especially coming away from home against a local rival. CS Portul Constanta remain in need of a response, and their next fixture now takes on added importance as they look to get back to winning ways.

In a division where fine margins often decide promotion and relegation battles, this was a reminder that defensive discipline and clinical counter-attacking can be just as important as dominance in possession.
