CS Blejoi claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over ACS Viitorul Corbeanca in Romanian Liga III on 23 October 2026, with a second-half set piece proving enough to separate the sides.

The match was tightly contested from the opening whistle, with both teams cautious in possession and eager to avoid conceding first. CS Blejoi looked to build through the midfield, while ACS Viitorul Corbeanca sat deeper and looked to spring quick counter-attacks. Clear chances were scarce in the first half, though the hosts went closest with a low drive from the edge of the box that was well saved.

Match overview

After the interval, CS Blejoi raised the tempo and began to pin their opponents back. The breakthrough came just after the hour mark from a corner. The delivery was whipped into a dangerous area, and a powerful header beat the goalkeeper to make it 1-0. The goal lifted the home side, who continued to press for a second.

ACS Viitorul Corbeanca responded with their best spell of the match, pushing more bodies forward and forcing a series of late corners. CS Blejoi’s defence stood firm, however, with the goalkeeper commanding his area and the centre-backs clearing several dangerous deliveries.

Key moments

• First half: Both sides cancelled each other out, with CS Blejoi’s long-range effort forcing a good save.
• Second half: CS Blejoi scored the decisive goal from a corner, finished with a strong header.
• Late pressure: ACS Viitorul Corbeanca pushed forward in search of an equaliser but could not find a way through.

Tactical story

CS Blejoi’s game plan was patient and structured. They circulated the ball calmly, waited for gaps to appear, and used set pieces as a key weapon. That approach paid off with the winning goal, and their defensive organisation ensured the lead was never seriously threatened in open play.

ACS Viitorul Corbeanca defended well for long periods and were unlucky to concede from a set piece. Their counter-attacking threat grew in the final 20 minutes, but the final ball lacked precision. The away side will feel they deserved more from the performance, even if clear chances were limited.

Standout performers and table impact

CS Blejoi’s centre-back was the match-winner with his header and also produced a commanding defensive display. The goalkeeper made two important saves, while the midfield captain controlled the tempo. For ACS Viitorul Corbeanca, the right-back was their most consistent performer, balancing defensive duties with forward runs.

The 1-0 win gives CS Blejoi a valuable three points in Romanian Liga III and strengthens their position in a competitive campaign. ACS Viitorul Corbeanca remain without a result from this fixture, but the narrow margin suggests they will be competitive in upcoming matches.
