CNS Cetate Deva 0-3 Unirea Sântana: Sântana Cruise to Comfortable Away Victory

Unirea Sântana produced a dominant away performance to beat CNS Cetate Deva 3-0 in Romanian Liga III on 22 September 2026. Three goals without reply gave the visitors a deserved three points and left the home side with plenty to work on.

Sântana controlled the game from the early stages, pressing high and moving the ball quickly. Deva struggled to cope with the intensity and were ultimately well beaten on home soil.

Match Overview

The visitors took the lead in the 12th minute, capitalising on a defensive mistake and finishing with composure. That early goal set the tone. Sântana continued to press and create chances, while Deva found it difficult to keep possession for any sustained period. The second goal arrived in the 58th minute, a well-placed shot from the edge of the area after a neat passing move.

Deva tried to respond, but they were caught again in the 84th minute as Sântana added a third on the counter. The final scoreline reflected the visitors’ superiority, and the clean sheet was a further source of satisfaction.

Key Moments

• 12th minute: Unirea Sântana score early after a defensive error.
• 58th minute: A crisp passing move ends with a low finish for 2-0.
• 84th minute: Sântana seal the win with a counter-attacking third goal.
• 90th minute: Deva’s late effort is comfortably saved as Sântana keep a clean sheet.

Tactical Story

Sântana used a high press to disrupt Deva’s build-up, forcing long balls that their defence dealt with easily. Their midfield won the second balls consistently, allowing them to sustain attacks. Deva, meanwhile, were too passive out of possession and lacked movement in the final third. When they did get forward, they were often isolated and outnumbered.

The away side’s transitions were particularly impressive. Both the second and third goals came from quick switches of play, catching Deva before they could reorganise. It was a complete away performance.

Standout Players

Sântana’s centre-forward was central to the victory, scoring twice and linking play well. Their captain in midfield dictated the tempo and rarely gave the ball away. For CNS Cetate Deva, the goalkeeper made several saves to keep the score down, and the right winger showed flashes of danger, but the team as a whole struggled to match Sântana’s intensity.

Season Impact

This 3-0 win boosts Unirea Sântana’s standing in the Romanian Liga III table and strengthens their away record. For CNS Cetate Deva, the focus must be on defensive organisation and creating more chances. The Liga III season is unforgiving, and home defeats of this nature can quickly pile on pressure if not addressed.
