Scolar Resita 3-1 CSM Slatina: Clinical Home Display Secures Three Points in Liga II

Scolar Resita claimed a convincing 3-1 victory over CSM Slatina in Romanian Liga II action on October 10, 2026, delivering a performance that combined early pressure, sharp finishing, and intelligent game management. The win gives Resita a valuable boost in the league standings and leaves Slatina searching for answers after a difficult away outing.

Match Overview

From the opening whistle, Scolar Resita looked the more assertive side. Playing at home, they pressed high, moved the ball quickly through midfield, and forced CSM Slatina into a series of hurried clearances. The visitors tried to settle into a compact block and hit on the counter, but Resita’s control of the central areas allowed them to dictate the rhythm of the match.

The game finished 3-1, a scoreline that reflected Resita’s greater attacking threat. While Slatina had spells of possession and managed to pull a goal back, they were never able to fully contain the home side’s runners between the lines.

Key Moments

• 12th minute: Scolar Resita opened the scoring after a low cross from the right was turned in from close range. The move started with a quick turnover in midfield and ended with a composed finish.
• 34th minute: CSM Slatina equalized against the run of play. A fast break caught Resita’s back line slightly high, and a well-placed shot leveled the score at 1-1.
• 58th minute: Resita restored their lead from a corner. A powerful header from the near post gave the Slatina goalkeeper no chance.
• 82nd minute: The home side sealed the win with a third goal, this time after a flowing move through the middle. A late run into the box was picked out, and the finish was calm and precise.

Tactical Story

Scolar Resita lined up with an energetic 4-2-3-1 shape that allowed their wide players to stretch CSM Slatina’s defense. The two holding midfielders screened the back line effectively and recycled possession quickly, which kept the visitors chasing the ball for long periods. Resita’s full-backs also pushed forward aggressively, creating overloads on the flanks and forcing Slatina’s midfielders into defensive roles.

CSM Slatina, by contrast, struggled to maintain possession under pressure. Their best moments came when they bypassed the midfield with direct passes, but those attacks were too isolated to change the overall momentum. After Resita regained the lead in the second half, the home team managed the game well, slowing the tempo and choosing their moments to attack.

Standout Players

Resita’s central midfield duo was instrumental, winning second balls and linking defense with attack. The wide forwards were a constant threat, while the center-back pairing dealt comfortably with Slatina’s attempts to play long. For CSM Slatina, the goalkeeper made several important saves to keep the margin from becoming wider, and their No. 10 showed flashes of creativity in transition.

Standings and Season Impact

The three points lift Scolar Resita into a more promising position in the Liga II table, strengthening their push toward the promotion and playoff conversation. For CSM Slatina, the defeat is a setback in what remains a long season, but the performance offered enough evidence that they can compete when they control possession more carefully. Resita’s 3-1 win will be remembered as one of their most complete home displays of the campaign.
