Dinamo Zagreb II started well and took an early lead through Filip Kovačić, but Dugopolje grew into the game and equalized before half-time. The second half was end-to-end, with Dugopolje twice moving ahead and Dinamo Zagreb II twice fighting back. Just when a draw looked likely, Dugopolje found a late winner.

Tactical Story

Dugopolje relied on quick transitions and set pieces, while Dinamo Zagreb II tried to play through the lines with short, sharp passing. The young Dinamo side looked dangerous when their midfielders broke forward, but they left space behind, and Dugopolje exploited it repeatedly in the second half.

Dugopolje’s decision to push their wingers higher after the break changed the game. It stretched Dinamo Zagreb II’s back line and created the gaps for the second and third goals. Dinamo’s response was brave, but the late concession highlighted their inexperience in managing key moments.

Standout Players

Luka Šarić was the hero for Dugopolje with the late winner, while Ivan Perić and Marko Jurić also impressed with their direct running and finishing. In midfield, Dugopolje’s captain kept the team calm during Dinamo’s best spells.

For Dinamo Zagreb II, Filip Kovačić was the brightest attacking threat, and Matej Horvat showed composure for his equalizer. The result was a tough lesson for the reserve side, but there were positives in their attacking play.

Table Impact

The win gives Dugopolje valuable momentum in the Croatian First Football League and rewards their attacking ambition. Dinamo Zagreb II remain a development-focused side, but they will be frustrated to leave empty-handed after twice coming back. In a five-goal match, the difference was Dugopolje’s ability to find one more moment of quality at the death.
