Tactical Story

The decisive tactical adjustment came in the second half when Aldeia Nova pushed their wingers higher and targeted the space behind Romariz’s full-backs. That pressure led to both goals and turned the cup tie in their favour.

Standout Players

Marta Sousa was central to Aldeia Nova’s comeback, linking midfield and attack before scoring the equaliser. Inês Ferreira’s winning goal capped a strong second-half display. For Romariz, Ana Rita was the most dangerous player and took her goal well, but she lacked support in the final stages.

The victory sends GD Aldeia Nova (W) through in the Portuguese Women’s Cup and gives them confidence for the next round. FC Romariz Women exit the competition after a promising start, but they will take encouragement from their first-half performance and the fight they showed until the final whistle.
