Tactical Story

Leça lined up in a 4-3-3, using their wide forwards to stretch the Marco 09 defence. The midfield trio pressed intelligently, winning the ball back quickly and launching attacks. Marco 09 tried to play out from the back but were often forced into long balls, which Leça’s centre-backs mopped up with ease. After the second goal, Leça managed the game expertly, slowing the tempo and keeping possession to deny their opponents any rhythm.

In midfield, captain André Sousa controlled the game with composure and accurate passing. For Marco 09, goalkeeper Pedro Alves made several fine saves to keep the score respectable, while midfielder Rui Costa showed flashes of quality but lacked support.

Standings Impact

The victory strengthens Leça’s position in the upper reaches of the Liga 3 table, keeping them in contention for promotion to the Segunda Liga. AD Marco 09 remain in mid-table, and while their away form remains a concern, their overall campaign is still far from decided. The two sides will meet again later in the season, and Marco 09 will be eager to avenge this defeat on home turf.
