Clube Albergaria Women claimed a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Braga B Women in the Portuguese Women’s Segunda Liga on 17 October 2026, with a late goal settling a competitive contest. The home side edged a match that swung back and forth, ultimately turning territorial pressure into the decisive moment in the closing stages.

Match overview

Albergaria set the tone early with an aggressive press and plenty of width in the attacking third. Braga B Women, relying on a younger and more reactive game plan, stayed compact and looked to spring forward on the break. The game was played at a good tempo, with both teams committing numbers forward whenever the ball turned over.

The hosts opened the scoring after a spell of sustained possession, working the ball into a dangerous area before finishing calmly. Braga B responded well and found an equaliser in the second half, briefly silencing the home crowd. But Albergaria kept pushing and found the winner late on, ensuring the three points stayed at home.

Key moments

The opening goal came midway through the first half and rewarded Albergaria for their early control. Braga B’s equaliser arrived after the break, when a quick transition caught the home defence out of shape. The decisive moment came in the final ten minutes, as Albergaria recycled a loose ball and delivered a cross that was converted under pressure.

Tactical story

Albergaria’s high press forced Braga B into several rushed clearances, and their midfield kept winning the second balls. Braga B looked most dangerous when they bypassed the press with direct passes into the channels. The home bench made a difference, adding fresh legs in wide areas and helping Albergaria finish the match strongly.

Standout performers

Albergaria’s central midfielder controlled the rhythm of the game and was central to most of their best moves. The home centre-back also dealt well with Braga B’s counterattacks, while the visiting goalkeeper made several smart saves to keep the score level for long periods. In the end, Albergaria’s persistence proved the difference.

Season impact

The win gives Clube Albergaria Women an important boost in the Portuguese Women’s Segunda Liga standings and reinforces their ability to grind out results at home. For Braga B Women, the performance offered encouragement despite the defeat, particularly their response after conceding first, but the late concession will sting.
