CF Benfica Women delivered one of their most convincing attacking displays of the campaign, beating CA Ouriense Women 3-1 in the Portuguese Women's Segunda Liga to claim a deserved three points on home soil.

Match Overview

From the opening minutes it was clear that CF Benfica intended to play on the front foot. Their midfield pressed high, forced turnovers in dangerous areas, and repeatedly fed the ball into the feet of their forwards. The reward was a commanding attacking performance that produced three goals and could easily have yielded more.

CA Ouriense were not passive, however. They defended in a compact block, looked to spring quick counter-attacks, and got their reward with a goal that briefly threatened to change the mood of the contest. In the end, though, the home side's superiority in the final third proved decisive.

Key Moments

• Opening goal: CF Benfica took the lead with a well-worked team move finished with composure inside the box.
• Doubling the lead: A second goal before the break gave the hosts a cushion they largely controlled.
• Ouriense reply: The visitors pulled one back with a sharp counter-attack, briefly raising hopes of a comeback.
• Third goal: CF Benfica restored their two-goal advantage and closed out the game with maturity.

Tactical Story

The match revolved around CF Benfica's ability to overload the wide areas and then attack the resulting space centrally. Their full-backs pushed high, the wingers drifted inside to create numerical advantages, and the midfield trio recycled possession quickly whenever moves broke down. It was a performance built on patience and movement rather than long balls or individual brilliance alone.

CA Ouriense's best spells came when they pressed aggressively after losing the ball, and their goal was a perfect example of that approach. But sustaining that intensity for ninety minutes against a side with CF Benfica's technical quality proved beyond them.

Standings Impact

The win strengthens CF Benfica Women's position in the Women's Segunda Liga, where goal difference and attacking output can prove decisive in the race for promotion and playoff places. For CA Ouriense, the result is a setback, though their fighting performance and away goal offer positives to take into the next round of fixtures.
