Benfica B Women 4-1 CA Ouriense Women: Ruthless Second Half Delivers Home Victory

Benfica B Women produced a commanding attacking performance to beat CA Ouriense Women 4-1 in the Portuguese Women's Segunda Liga on 18 October 2026, turning a competitive first half into a clear home win with a dominant spell after the break.

Match Overview

Benfica B set the tone early with aggressive pressing and quick ball circulation, forcing Ouriense into a deep defensive block. The home side's width caused problems from the opening minutes, and the breakthrough arrived when a low cross from the right was converted from close range. Ouriense responded well and found an equaliser with a composed finish after a rare spell of sustained possession in the Benfica B half.

The game remained finely balanced until Benfica B restored their lead just before half-time, capitalising on a loose ball in the penalty area. That goal changed the mood of the contest. After the restart, Benfica B raised the tempo again, scored a third early in the second half, and added a fourth late on to complete a convincing result.

Key Moments

• Opening goal: Benfica B's early pressure paid off when a driven cross from the right was turned in at the near post.
• Ouriense equaliser: The visitors responded with a neat move through midfield and a calm finish beyond the goalkeeper.
• Half-time lead: Benfica B regained control before the interval, pouncing on a loose ball inside the box.
• Third goal: A quick transition early in the second half opened up the Ouriense defence and effectively settled the match.
• Late fourth: Benfica B rounded off the scoring with a composed finish after sustained pressure around the penalty area.

Tactical Story

Benfica B's high press and wide overloads were central to the win. The home side consistently used the flanks to stretch Ouriense's back line, then attacked the space between the full-back and centre-back. Ouriense defended compactly for long spells and showed flashes of quality on the counter, but the physical and technical demands of the match told after half-time.

Once Benfica B moved the ball more quickly in the second half, Ouriense struggled to close down the shooting lanes. The home team's midfield rotation also helped them win second balls and sustain attacks, while the back line dealt comfortably with most of the visitors' direct play.

Standout Performers

Benfica B's attacking midfielder was at the heart of most positive moves, linking play between midfield and attack and creating space with intelligent movement. The right-sided forward was a constant threat, delivering dangerous crosses and contributing to the opening goal. In defence, the home centre-backs kept their composure during Ouriense's best spell.

For Ouriense, the goalkeeper made several important saves to keep the score respectable, while the captain in midfield worked tirelessly to disrupt Benfica B's rhythm. Those individual efforts were not enough to prevent the visitors from slipping to defeat.

Season Impact

The three points strengthen Benfica B Women's position in the Portuguese Women's Segunda Liga standings and underline their attacking potential as the season progresses. For CA Ouriense Women, the result is a reminder of the fine margins in the division, especially against opponents who convert spells of pressure into goals. Both sides will now turn their attention to the next round of fixtures, with Benfica B looking to build momentum and Ouriense aiming for a response.
