Tactical Story

AD Fazendense used a high-pressing 4-3-3 that suffocated GC Figueirense’s attempts to play out from the back. Their midfield trio won the ball back quickly and fed the front three with early passes, allowing the wide players to run at defenders. The hosts also looked dangerous from set pieces, scoring from a corner and creating several other chances from dead-ball situations.

GC Figueirense tried to defend in a compact block, but they were dragged out of position by AD Fazendense’s movement. Once the first goal went in, the visitors had to push higher, which only created more space for the home side to exploit. The second half became a procession at times, with AD Fazendense controlling possession and choosing their moments to attack.

Standout Players

The AD Fazendense forward line was relentless, with one striker completing a hat-trick and the wide players contributing goals and assists. The midfield captain dictated the tempo and won possession repeatedly, while the defence remained alert despite the comfortable scoreline. For GC Figueirense, the free-kick scorer was a rare bright spot on a difficult evening, and their goalkeeper made several saves to keep the score from reaching double figures.

What It Means

AD Fazendense progress in the Portuguese Cup with a statement performance that will boost confidence throughout the squad. A 6-1 win sends a clear message to future opponents and improves the team’s reputation as a dangerous attacking side. GC Figueirense exit the competition after a heavy defeat, and they will need to regroup quickly for their league commitments. In cup football, momentum matters, and AD Fazendense now have plenty of it.
