FC Alverca B delivered a ruthless attacking performance to thrash AD Fazendense 5-0 in the Portuguese Campeonato Nacional on Sunday evening. A blistering first-half display set the tone, and the home side never took their foot off the gas, recording a comprehensive victory.

Match Overview

FC Alverca B came flying out of the blocks and took the lead inside eight minutes, their forward finishing off a swift counter-attack. The pressure continued, and a second goal arrived on 22 minutes when a misplaced pass was intercepted and converted with a low drive. The third came right on the stroke of half-time, a glancing header from a corner that left the goalkeeper with no chance.

Any hopes of a Fazendense comeback were extinguished early in the second half. On 61 minutes, a mazy run from the winger ended with a powerful shot into the roof of the net. The scoring was completed in the 79th minute when a substitute tapped in from close range after another flowing move. AD Fazendense, to their credit, kept battling but were simply overwhelmed.

Tactical Story

FC Alverca B employed a high-pressing 4-2-3-1 that suffocated AD Fazendense's attempts to play out from the back. The midfield duo won the ball back repeatedly, allowing the attacking quartet to swarm forward. Fazendense tried to shift to a back five after the third goal, but the damage was already done. The home side's quick passing and intelligent movement were simply too much to handle.

Standout Performers

The FC Alverca B winger was electric, scoring one and assisting another with his direct running. The central striker also impressed with his hold-up play and clinical finishing. For AD Fazendense, their goalkeeper was left exposed far too often but still made a handful of decent saves, while their young centre-back showed composure despite the scoreline.

League Impact

The emphatic win boosts FC Alverca B's goal difference significantly and strengthens their position in the Campeonato Nacional table. It also sends a clear message to their promotion rivals. AD Fazendense will need to regroup quickly, as this heavy defeat could affect morale. For Alverca B, the challenge now is to maintain this level of performance in the coming weeks.
