Chaves B delivered a ruthless away performance in the Portuguese Campeonato Nacional on 11 October 2026, beating Brito SC 4-0 at Campo de Jogos de Brito. The reserve side of Chaves controlled the match from the early stages, scoring at key moments and punishing Brito SC’s defensive errors with clinical efficiency.

Match Overview

Chaves B began with purpose, pressing Brito SC high and moving the ball quickly through midfield. The opening goal came inside the first 15 minutes, and from that point the visitors never looked back. Brito SC tried to respond, but their passing was often rushed and their attacking moves broke down in the final third. Chaves B doubled their lead before half-time and then added two more after the break, managing the game professionally and keeping a clean sheet. The scoreline reflected the gap in quality and composure on the night.

Key Moments

• 11th minute: Chaves B took the lead with a neat finish after a flowing move down the left.
• 38th minute: A defensive mistake allowed Chaves B to double their advantage from close range.
• 61st minute: The visitors made it 3-0 with a powerful header from a corner.
• 84th minute: Chaves B completed the scoring with a counter-attacking goal, finishing calmly one-on-one.

Tactical Story

Chaves B lined up with a flexible 4-2-3-1 that allowed their attacking midfielders to drift between the lines. Brito SC struggled to track those runs, and the visitors repeatedly found space in the half-spaces. Defensively, Chaves B were organised and aggressive, winning the ball back quickly and launching counter-attacks before Brito could reset. Brito SC’s attempts to press were often bypassed with simple passes, and their back line was exposed by Chaves B’s direct running. The away side’s set-piece threat was also evident, with the third goal coming from a well-rehearsed corner.

Standout Players

Chaves B’s centre-forward was instrumental, scoring twice and linking play effectively. Their left winger was a constant outlet, creating chances and stretching the Brito defence. In midfield, the deeper playmaker dictated the tempo and rarely gave the ball away. For Brito SC, the goalkeeper made a few good saves to keep the score from becoming even more lopsided, while their captain tried to rally the team. However, individual efforts were not enough against a collective performance of this quality.

What the Result Means

The 4-0 victory strengthens Chaves B’s position in the Portuguese Campeonato Nacional and adds significantly to their goal difference. Brito SC remain with plenty to work on, especially their defensive organisation and ability to handle high pressing. For Chaves B, the result shows the depth and quality within their squad, and it will give them confidence for the next round of fixtures. Brito SC, meanwhile, must regroup quickly to avoid a slide in the standings.
