Pogon Szczecin Women produced a disciplined and clinical away performance to beat UKS Lodz Women 2-0 in the Poland Women's Ekstraliga on September 26, 2026. The victory lifts the visitors further up the standings and leaves the home side searching for answers after a frustrating evening at their own ground.

Match Overview

From the opening whistle, Pogon Szczecin Women looked the more composed side. They pressed high, won the ball back quickly in midfield, and created the better chances. UKS Lodz Women struggled to find rhythm and were often forced into long balls that the Pogon defence dealt with comfortably.

The visitors took the lead midway through the first half and doubled their advantage after the break. A clean sheet capped a near-perfect away day. The result means Pogon Szczecin Women continue their push for a top-half finish, while UKS Lodz Women remain in need of points to climb away from the lower reaches of the table.

Key Moments

• First-half opener: Pogon broke the deadlock with a well-worked move, finishing calmly past the goalkeeper.
• Second-half security: A second goal early in the second period effectively ended the contest.
• Defensive resilience: Pogon's back line held firm, limiting UKS Lodz to very few clear-cut opportunities.

Tactical Story

Pogon Szczecin Women set up in a compact 4-2-3-1, with the front four pressing aggressively to disrupt UKS Lodz's build-up. That strategy paid off, as the home side repeatedly lost possession in their own half. When UKS did manage to progress, Pogon's midfield dropped into a solid block, forcing play wide and neutralizing crosses.

UKS Lodz Women tried to respond by pushing their full-backs higher, but that left space in behind. Pogon nearly added a third on the counter-attack. The home coach made changes in the second half, but the visitors' organization never wavered.

Standout Players

Pogon's central striker was a constant threat, holding up play and linking with midfield runners. The goalkeeper also deserves credit for a confident display, claiming crosses and making a smart save late on to preserve the clean sheet. For UKS Lodz, the left winger showed flashes of danger but lacked support.

Season Impact

This result strengthens Pogon Szczecin Women's position in the Poland Women's Ekstraliga table. They have now shown they can win on the road against teams fighting for every point. For UKS Lodz Women, the focus shifts to the next fixture, where they must find a way to convert possession into goals. The head-to-head record now favors Pogon, and they will take confidence from a professional away win.
