Rekord Bielsko-Biała Women and APLG Gdańsk Women played out a hard-fought 1-1 draw on Sunday, 27 September 2026, in Poland's Women's Ekstraliga. In a match of few clear-cut chances but plenty of intensity, both goals arrived in the second half, leaving each side to reflect on a point that was probably fair on the balance of play. The result continues a competitive start to the season for both clubs.

Match Overview

Rekord Bielsko-Biała, a club with a proud tradition in Polish women's football, hosted APLG Gdańsk at their home ground in southern Poland. The visitors from the Baltic coast arrived with a reputation for organised, disciplined football and largely succeeded in frustrating their hosts during a cagey first half. The opening 45 minutes produced few shots on target, with both defences on top.

The game opened up after the interval, and within twenty minutes of the restart, both teams had found the net. Neither side could force a winner in the closing stages, and the final whistle confirmed a share of the spoils.

Key Moments

• 12' — Early chance: Rekord Bielsko-Biała's winger cuts inside but curls her effort just wide of the far post.
• 37' — APLG Gdańsk threaten: A free-kick from 25 yards forces a smart save from the home goalkeeper.
• 51' — Rekord take the lead: A quick counter ends with a composed finish from the edge of the area.
• 68' — APLG Gdańsk equalise: A deep cross is met with a firm header that loops over the goalkeeper.
• 84' — Late pressure: Both teams push for a winner, but resolute defending keeps the score level.

Tactical Story

Rekord Bielsko-Biała set up in a 4-2-3-1 and tried to play through the thirds with short, sharp passing. They found it difficult to break down a well-drilled APLG Gdańsk side that defended in a compact 4-4-2 and tracked runners diligently. The home team's best moments came when they switched play quickly from side to side, and their goal was a perfect example of that approach.

APLG Gdańsk grew into the game as it progressed. Their equaliser came from a deliberate shift in approach, with more crosses into the box after the hour mark. Both managers made attacking substitutions in the final fifteen minutes, but neither could unlock the opposition defence a second time.

Standout Players

Rekord Bielsko-Biała's goalscorer was sharp and clinical, taking her one clear opportunity with real quality. The home goalkeeper also made two important saves, including a first-half free-kick stop. For APLG Gdańsk, the winger who delivered the assist for the equaliser was a constant outlet on the right, and the centre-back produced a commanding defensive performance to limit the hosts' chances.

What the Result Means

The draw leaves both teams level on points in the early Women's Ekstraliga standings, with each still searching for the consistency that could lift them up the table. Rekord Bielsko-Biała will be pleased with their attacking intent but frustrated not to have held on for the win. APLG Gdańsk, meanwhile, will take heart from a solid away performance and a well-earned point on the road.
