The visitors' efficiency in front of goal proved the difference in a competitive fixture, handing Pogon a frustrating home defeat despite a performance that produced plenty of promising moments.

Match overview

The Poland Women's Ekstraliga continues to grow in competitiveness, and this fixture illustrated why. Pogon Szczecin Women began with purpose, pushing players forward and creating a handful of half-chances in the opening exchanges. But it was Rekord Bielsko Biala Women who struck first, converting one of their early opportunities with a calm finish that set the tone for a professional away display.

Pogon responded well and levelled the match, generating momentum and briefly looking the more likely side to take control. However, Rekord Bielsko Biala restored their lead and then defended it with discipline, restricting the hosts to shots from distance in the closing stages.

Key moments

• First half: Rekord Bielsko Biala Women take the lead against the run of early pressure with a well-taken opening goal.
• Midway through the first half: Pogon Szczecin Women equalise, rewarding a period of sustained attacking play.
• Before the break: The visitors retake the lead, punishing a moment of hesitation in the Pogon defence.

Tactical story

Pogon Szczecin Women set up to attack, with their full-backs pushing high and the midfield looking to feed the front line quickly. That ambition created chances but also left them exposed when possession broke down. Both Rekord goals came from transitions in which Pogon's defensive shape had not fully recovered.

Rekord Bielsko Biala Women were content to concede possession in less dangerous areas and hit on the break. Their defensive block was well organised, with the midfield dropping in to protect the back four and the goalkeeper commanding her area confidently. It was a pragmatic, well-executed away performance.

In the second half, Pogon's manager made attacking changes in an attempt to force an equaliser, but the visitors' discipline held. The best chances for the hosts came from set pieces, where Rekord's marking was occasionally uncertain.

Standout performers

For Pogon Szczecin Women, the goalscorer was lively throughout, and the central midfielder who drove the team forward consistently was the standout performer in a losing cause. The goalkeeper made two important saves to keep the deficit at one goal and give her side a chance of a comeback.

Rekord Bielsko Biala Women's two goalscorers deserved the plaudits for their clinical finishing, while the centre-back pairing was outstanding in the second half, repelling wave after wave of pressure. The captain's leadership in the closing stages was exemplary.

Season impact

The win strengthens Rekord Bielsko Biala Women's position in the Ekstraliga table and underlines their ability to grind out results on the road — a quality that separates genuine contenders from mid-table sides. For Pogon Szczecin Women, the defeat is a setback, particularly at home, and highlights the need for greater defensive concentration in transition moments.

The Ekstraliga season is long, and both clubs will have plenty of opportunities to shape their campaigns. Pogon will look to bounce back quickly in their next fixture, while Rekord will aim to build on a result that demonstrates their growing maturity at this level.
