Star Starachowice claimed a 2-1 away victory over Wislanie Jaskowice in Poland Liga 3, using a disciplined second-half performance to secure three valuable points. The visitors came from behind to win a hard-fought contest, with the decisive goal arriving after a period of sustained pressure that exposed Wislanie’s difficulty in managing transitions.

Match overview

Wislanie Jaskowice began the match brightly and took the lead during their best spell of the first half. The home side pressed with energy and looked to use the width of the pitch to stretch Star Starachowice’s defensive block. But the visitors stayed in the contest, equalised before the break, and then produced a more controlled second-half display to complete the turnaround.

Star Starachowice’s victory was built on resilience. They absorbed pressure when required, defended set pieces well, and took advantage of the spaces that opened up as Wislanie pushed forward in search of a winner. The result adds momentum to their Liga 3 campaign and leaves the home side ruing missed opportunities.

Key moments

• Wislanie take the lead: The home side’s early pressure paid off with the opening goal, rewarding their aggressive start.
• Star Starachowice equalise: The visitors responded before half-time, finding a way through after Wislanie failed to clear their lines.
• Star Starachowice go ahead: A second-half goal put the visitors in front for the first time, changing the momentum of the match.
• Late Wislanie pressure: The home side pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages, but Star Starachowice’s defence held firm.

Tactical story

Wislanie’s game plan was based on quick starts and wide overloads. They found early joy down the flanks, with their full-backs pushing high and their midfielders arriving late in the box. The opening goal came from that pattern, but the home side struggled to maintain the same intensity after taking the lead. Their passes became less precise, and Star Starachowice began to win more second balls in midfield.

Star Starachowice adjusted well after the interval. They compressed the space between the lines, forced Wislanie into wider areas, and used quick counter-attacks to threaten. Their winner came from a transitional moment, catching Wislanie with too many players committed forward. From there, the visitors managed the game intelligently, slowing the tempo and defending their advantage with maturity.

Standout performers

Star Starachowice’s midfield engine was instrumental in turning the game around, winning possession and driving the team forward. Their centre-back pairing also deserves credit for limiting Wislanie’s clear chances after the equaliser. For Wislanie, the bright spark was their wide attacker, who caused problems throughout and was involved in the opening goal. The home goalkeeper made several important saves to keep the scoreline close, but the team could not find a late response.

What the win means

For Star Starachowice, the three points are a strong statement in a competitive Liga 3 season. Away wins of this nature build belief and can prove crucial in the final standings. Wislanie Jaskowice, meanwhile, will be frustrated at letting a lead slip at home. The result highlights the importance of game management in the division: taking chances when on top and staying compact when the momentum shifts. Star Starachowice did both better on the night.
