Sokol Sieniawa and Polonia Przemysl played out a 1-1 draw in their Poland Liga 3 fixture on Friday, 16 October 2026, a result that left both sides with a share of the points and a familiar sense of unfinished business in a keenly contested regional meeting.

Played under the lights with a late 21:45 kick-off, the match delivered exactly what the local rivalry promised: a tense, physical contest, an early spell of Polonia pressure, a spirited Sokol response, and a second half in which both teams had genuine chances to win it. In the end, neither could find the decisive moment.

Match Overview

• Home team: Sokol Sieniawa
• Away team: Polonia Przemysl
• Date and time: 16 October 2026, 21:45
• Final score: Sokol Sieniawa 1-1 Polonia Przemysl
• Result: Draw — one point each

The draw keeps both clubs in the middle pack of the Liga 3 table, where a handful of points separate the promotion chasers from the teams still looking over their shoulders. For Sokol Sieniawa it was a night of character, coming from behind in front of their own supporters. For Polonia Przemysl it was a night of frustration, having controlled long stretches of the first half without turning that control into a winning margin.

First Half: Polonia Settle Quicker

The visitors made the brighter start. Polonia Przemysl pressed high from the opening whistle, forcing Sieniawa into a series of rushed clearances and pinning the home side deep in their own half during the first twenty minutes. Their reward came midway through the opening period when a well-worked corner routine ended with a powerful header from the edge of the six-yard box, the ball flashing past the Sokol goalkeeper to make it 1-0.

Sokol Sieniawa needed time to grow into the match, but grow into it they did. A switch to a more compact midfield shape allowed them to win the ball higher up the pitch, and the last fifteen minutes of the first half belonged largely to the hosts. A curling effort from distance clipped the top of the crossbar, and a quick counter-attack down the right forced a scrambling save as Polonia's lead began to look increasingly fragile.

Second Half: Sieniawa Find Their Answer

The equaliser arrived in the second half and it was thoroughly deserved. After a sustained spell of pressure, Sokol Sieniawa worked the ball into the penalty area, and a composed low finish into the far corner levelled the score at 1-1. The goal transformed the atmosphere, with the home crowd urging their team forward in search of a winner.

What followed was the most open passage of the game. Polonia Przemysl responded by pushing their full-backs higher and committing more bodies forward, while Sieniawa looked dangerous every time they broke at speed. Both goalkeepers were called into action — one producing a strong one-handed stop to deny a close-range header, the other reacting sharply to smother a shot at the near post with the game stretched.

Tactical Story of the Match

The contest was essentially a battle between Polonia's structured possession game and Sieniawa's willingness to defend in numbers and strike on the transition.

• Polonia Przemysl looked to build patiently from the back, using their midfield triangle to circulate the ball and find space on the flanks. Their best moments came from set pieces and crosses into the box, an area where they carried a clear physical advantage in the first half.
• Sokol Sieniawa adjusted well after the opening half hour, narrowing the gaps between their midfield and defensive lines and forcing turnovers in the middle third. Their equaliser came from exactly that pattern — a regained ball, a quick exchange, and a finish taken early.
• The final twenty minutes saw both coaches make attacking substitutions, and the game became a genuine end-to-end affair. Neither side was willing to settle for the point, but neither could break the deadlock again.

Standout Performers

Sokol Sieniawa's goalkeeper was arguably the busiest player on the pitch and produced two important saves in the closing stages, while the home side's midfield engine drove the comeback with relentless running and several incisive passes into the channels. The goalscorer, cool under pressure for the equaliser, will remember the night fondly.

For Polonia Przemysl, the aerial threat from set pieces was the standout feature of their performance, and their centre-back pairing dealt competently with most of what Sieniawa threw at them in open play. Their most influential player was the creative midfielder who repeatedly found pockets of space between the lines
