Sokol Bożepole Wielkie 2-3 KP Starogard Gdański — five goals, three points, and one of the most entertaining fixtures of the Poland Liga 3 weekend. KP Starogard Gdański edged a pulsating Pomeranian contest on 20 September 2026, surviving a late Sokol fightback to take a 3-2 away win that could prove valuable when the Group II table is settled.

Match Overview

The visitors started the brighter of the two sides and were rewarded for their early aggression, moving the ball quickly through midfield and attacking the space behind Sokol's defensive line. By the time the home side had settled into the rhythm of the game, Starogard had already established the advantage that would ultimately decide the match.

Sokol Bożepole Wielkie, playing in front of their own supporters, refused to fold. Twice they dragged themselves back into the contest with goals that lifted the crowd, but each time Starogard found a response — a hallmark of a side with genuine attacking quality and the composure to use it away from home.

Key Moments

• Early pressure: Starogard's high tempo forced Sokol into a series of hurried clearances in the opening quarter of an hour.
• Opening goal: A slick passing move sliced open the hosts' back line and gave the visitors the lead.
• Sokol response: Bożepole levelled with a well-struck effort, briefly shifting the momentum of the match.
• Two-goal cushion: Starogard struck twice in quick succession either side of the interval to open a 3-1 advantage.
• Nervy finish: Sokol pulled one back to set up a tense closing period, but the equaliser eluded them.

Tactical Story

KP Starogard Gdanski's success came from width. Their wide players stayed high and stretched Sokol's defensive block, creating overloads that repeatedly pulled centre-backs out of position. When the crosses came in, the movement of the strikers was intelligent, arriving late into the box rather than contesting the first ball.

Sokol Bożepole Wielkie's best spells came when they pressed higher and won possession in the middle third. Both of their goals originated from turnovers rather than patient build-up, underlining that their threat is at its sharpest when they attack quickly. The issue was consistency — the press dropped for long stretches, and Starogard punished them.

Standout Performers

Starogard's attacking unit shared the credit, with the forward line rotating positions to confuse the home defence, and the midfield providing the platform with disciplined ball retention. For Sokol, the two goalscorers showed the kind of finishing that keeps a team competitive in Liga 3, and the goalkeeper made several stops to prevent the scoreline from becoming more lopsided.

What the Result Means

Away victories in Liga 3 are among the hardest currency in Polish football, and Starogard Gdanski will view this as a statement result. Scoring three times on the road suggests their promotion ambitions are built on solid foundations.

Sokol Bożepole Wielkie, meanwhile, will be frustrated by the defensive lapses rather than the overall performance. Scoring twice at home should be enough to earn something from a match, and tightening up at the back — particularly in transition — is now the clear priority as the season progresses.
