Warta Sieradz and Olimpia Zambrow shared the points in a 2-2 draw in Poland's Liga 3, with the visitors completing a stirring comeback after trailing by two goals.

Match overview

Sieradz made a dream start, scoring twice inside the opening half hour and appearing on course for a routine home victory. Their pressing was sharp, their passing was crisp, and Olimpia Zambrow struggled to find any foothold in the game during the opening period.

But the visitors regrouped impressively. A goal shortly before half-time changed the mood entirely, and after dominating possession for much of the second half they found the equaliser in the closing stages to claim a deserved point.

Key moments

• 11 minutes: Sieradz open the scoring with a low drive from the edge of the box after a short corner.
• 28 minutes: A second goal follows, the striker converting a cross from the right with a neat first-time finish.
• 41 minutes: Olimpia Zambrow pull one back, capitalising on a loose ball in the area.
• 63 minutes: The visitors hit the post as their pressure begins to tell.
• 86 minutes: The equaliser arrives, a substitute sweeping home a cut-back from the byline.
• Full time: Honours even at 2-2 after a dramatic second half.

Tactical story

Sieradz's early dominance came from winning the ball high and attacking quickly, catching Olimpia cold in the opening half hour. Their two-goal lead was thoroughly deserved, built on aggressive pressing and sharp movement in the final third.

The turning point was tactical. Olimpia's midfield began playing through the thirds rather than going long, committing their full-backs forward and creating numerical overloads in wide areas. That shift pinned Sieradz back for long stretches of the second half and eventually produced the goal that levelled the match.

Sieradz will be frustrated that they could not manage the game from a winning position, while Olimpia's second-half display was a clear demonstration of their character and tactical flexibility.

Standout performers

Sieradz's striker was sharp throughout and took his goal well, while their goalkeeper made two excellent saves to preserve the lead during the visitors' strongest spell. The captain drove the team forward in the first half but faded as the game wore on.

Olimpia Zambrow's substitute changed the match, scoring the equaliser and adding real energy in the final twenty minutes. Their central midfielder was the most consistent performer on the pitch, controlling the tempo after the interval.

What it means in the Liga 3 table

The draw leaves both clubs with mixed feelings in the Liga 3 standings. Sieradz drop two points from a commanding position, a result that could prove costly in a tight promotion race, while Olimpia Zambrow will view the comeback as a platform to build on away from home.

Both teams now prepare for their next fixtures with a clear sense of what needs improving: game management for the hosts, and a stronger start for the visitors.
